Akwa United midfielder Rilwan Sadiq has expressed disappointment following his team’s 5-3 defeat to Bayelsa United in their Nigerian Premier Football League game on Saturday at the Samson Siasia Sports Stadium.
Akwa United forward Mohammed Hadi scored the first goal of the match in the 21st minute.
Jerry Alex equalised for Bayelsa United six minutes later and completed his brace in 38th minute to give Akwa United a 2-1 lead.
Robert Mizo levelled the scores for the Bayelsa based team just before halftime.
Hadi scored once again in the 76th minute to complete his hat-trick and put the Promise Keepers ahead 3-2.
Mizo scored for Bayelsa United in the 82nd, 89th and 94th minute to make it four goals for him and to give his team a 5-3 win.

Sadiq was substituted in for Mubarak Said in the 82nd minute of the match.
He took to his X handle formerly known as Twitter to bemoan the defeat.
“Not A Favorable Result. But We Head Up For Success. We Promise To Come Back Stronger,” he posted.
Sadiq was signed by Akwa United from Osun United in the just concluded summer transfer window.
He has previously played for Ikorodu United, Go Round FC and Sunshine Stars.
Akwa United are 20th on the 2023/2024 NPFL season with zero points after matchday one.
