Akwa United assistant coach Akarandut Orok has attributed the team’s victory over Enyimba to to the players’ determination and doggedness.
The Promise Keepers defeated Stanley Eguma’s side 2-1 in their matchday 23 encounter in Aba on Sunday.
Orok declared that the win will propel the team to more victories in the remaining matches of the season.
“We are really excited that we have won this game, it was a tough match, both teams needed victory but we wanted it more that was why our players fought hard and played according to instructions to ensure we secure all three points,” he told the club’s media.

“The boys played very well in all the departments and created good scoring chances but couldn’t convert some of those chances.
” We are happy that the two we were able to convert have given us the maximum points, and we will continue to work on our finishing because it’s when you score more than your opponent that you can win games.
“This result is coming at the right time, and it will definitely encourage and motivate us to go for more victories in both home and away games.
“As a club, we are not where we are supposed to be on the log and we really want to sustain this momentum because for us to get the results that we want, we need that consistency”.
The 2021 league champions will face Sunshine Stars in Ikenne this weekend.
