Super Falcons captain Onome Ebi has said nobody can force her into retirement, that she will call it quit when the time is right.
There have been calls for the 40-year-old to call it a day from professional football.
The former Bayelsa Queens, Omidiran Babes and FC Minsk defender, recently signed for Nigeria Women’s Football League side Naija Ratel as a free agent.
She was part of the Super Falcons squad that participated at this year’s FIFA women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
It was her sixth appearance at the World Cup after making her debut in 2003.

“When I’m done I would make that decision myself, nobody is going to talk me into retirement or make me stop playing,” Ebi said on Brila FM.
“It’s the game I love, it’s the game I enjoy so when I’m done when I’m satisfied that I can no longer play I will call it a day, nobody can make me retire when I’m not ready.“
Ebi has won four Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in 2010, 2014, 2016 and 2018.
She was also at the 2008 Beijing Olympics with the Super Falcons.
