Chidozie Awaziem has assured Nigerians to expect nothing but the best from the Super Eagles, when they face Ecuador in their next friendly game in New Jersey, USA.
The Eagles will take on Ecuador in the early hours of Friday in the second of two friendlies lined up for them.
In the first friendly against Mexico, the Eagles lost 2-1 with Cyriel Dessers opening his international goal account.

And ahead of the next fixture against Ecuador, Awaziem explained what makes new head coach Jose Peseiro different.
“We are all prepared for the second game against Ecuador and training session went well,” he said on NFF TV.
“Everyone was ready in training and it was really a tough one. But I hope we will all be ready for the game against Ecuador and everyone is really in a good shape.
“The coach is someone who likes to play football, who likes his team to enjoy themselves in the game and also have control of the game. He is a coach that pushes a lot to the players and right now he push us a lot and he tries to possess the game as much as possible.
“Nigerians should expect nothing but the best. We always giving our best to come out with victory. As we know Super Eagles, we always want to win and this is our culture and we always want to give our best even if it is a friendly or in competitions.”
Awaziem added:”Right now we are just focused on the game game against Ecuador to make sure we come out with a good one.”
The Eagles will be targeting a first win since defeating Guinea-Bissau 2-0 in their final group game at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon in January.
Since the win against Guinea-Bissau, the Eagles have gone four consecutive games without emerging victors, losing two and drawing two.
After the friendly against Ecuador, their next assignment will be the 2023 AFCON qualifiers against Sierra Leone and Mauritius.
They will host Sierra Leone on June 9 before going away to face Mauritius on June 13.

Meanwhile Victor Ikpeba on SuperSports is already saying half of the team should be sacked, and mentions Ndidi and Iheanacho. But his faulty intelligence did not tell us their replacements. I wonder if Ikpeba did the WASCE. He talks like a semi-illiterate.
Now this Ikpeba guy is pushing it. First the Osimhen comment which generated mixed reactions but I’ve watched him closely after the Osimhen saga and to be honest this guy talks like he thinks from his ass and that is why these young players will disrespect him….He doesn’t even talk like an ex professional or a former African footballer of the year. I think his mental illness is coming baack again.
If indeed he said that then it is rather unfortunate. Still does not give Osimhen the right to respond the way he did. How anyone can think of sacking Ndidi beats me, Ikpeba might have been a great footballer but he appears to be an awful pundit (Assuming he actually said that).
Why would anyone in their right thinking sense ask for a player like Ndidi to be dropped? That the most absurd thing to say really. I hope this new coach can do well and why wouldn’t the best players in the fold be called?
I saw the vigorous training that Peseiro is putting the team through and Honestly I haven’t seen such in a while….All I used to see was jogging and soccer tennis or na soccer volleyball. It’s still too early but I think this man might have a point to prove especially how hard it was to finally land the job.
I have sack you Ikpoba please don’t kill our football and players for us we have a new coach he knows who to invite
