German Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt have signed Nigerian forward Rafiu Durosinmi from Czech Republic side Viktoria Plzen.
According to Italian journalist and transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, quoting German publication, BILD, the deal is worth €9m.
According to Romano Durosinmi, whose medical is already booked, is expected to arrive Germany on Thursday, 28 December 2023.
Durosinmi will be Frankfurt’s second signing after the acquisition of Dutch midfielder Donny van de Beek, who joined from Manchester United on loan.
This season, Durosinmi has scored six goals, provided six assists in 11 league appearances for Viktoria Plzen.
Before joining Karviná, Durosinmi played youth football in Nigeria.
In 2022, the 20-year-old was promoted to the first team and during his first season, he scored three goals, including one against Slavia Prague.
In January 2023, Durosinmi was loaned to Viktoria Plzeň and after arriving on loan, he played a friendly for Viktoria Plzeň.

Good news!
I hope this is true and I believe it is. The transfer expert mentioned here is very reputable.
This young man has made remarkable progress in his career within a short period of time.
And folks, remember he is making this transfer from the Czech league which some have maligned.
Look at our position after two World Cup qualifying matches, none of which was played in our opponent’s home ground.
There is a lesson to be learned here.
Yet another Nigeria groomed non-npfl player makes it to the German League.
Even the Czech league where the boy is moving from is a bridge too far nowadays for the many talents in the NPFL…LMAOoo…!!
Hey Brother,
Just imagine the NPFL operating ar the level of the Egyptian, Tunisian, Algerian, Moroccan or South African leagues and most of our Nigerian groomed players can feature for at least two seasons before leaving. The financial inflow into the league will be massive. But those guys at the helm know little or nothing about the marketing and management of this game.
In the entire forty man AFCON list , apart from the home based goalkeepers and Ahmed Musa , I don’t think there’s any other NPFL product on that list. This is a big shame indeed.
The best NPFL players don’t even get transfer deals to the top leagues in Africa anymore. These days the media now celebrate NPFL players transfers to leagurs in countries like Tanzania and Mozambique.
Omeruo and Boniface played for(sunshine),
Wrong!! Victor Boniface played for Real Sapphire FC, an amateur club here in Nigeria before he joined the Norwegian club Bodo Glimt in 2019..how sunshine come join? is it because he was born in akure..As for Omeruo, he had spells at Sunshine Stars and Anderlecht as a trialist before he was signed from the Anderlecht academy by Standard Liège. He is a product of Hard Foundation, an Academy here.
The bundesliga is where its at. Hopefully they focus on their careers outside the premier league. Too many Nigerian players want to play for the premier league just to only end up at most bottom mid table at most. Osimhen and Lookman for serie a. Boniface for bundesliga. The ones in in the premier league aint even achieving as they thought they would.
Sooner or later you will hear stories from clubs in the premier league saying we were watching him or we were gonna sign him, like they said about boniface. Any premier league team can make an offer especially bottom teams in which plenty got relegated. But boniface was smart to stick with Bayer Leverkusen and he is thriving. Nigerians are only good for bottom half mid table teams. Fulham, Southampton and Nottingham. Lessons to be learned here
@Shuma: your analysis is so incoherent and without facts to back up your claim that Nigerians in the EPl are mostly playing at bottom clubs, therefore their quality is not good. English Premier league is no joke mate. It is a very competitive league in comparison to the Bundesliga where Bayern wins almost every season. With that said, the Bundesliga is still competitive enough for our players to build upon as they progress in their careers. Stop slating Nigerian players qualities. Shuma.
Lol I found an old post from November this year
“Wolverhampton Wanderers are plotting a January move for Viktoria Plzen striker Rafiu Durosinmi.
Another Premier League outfit Brighton & Hove Albion and Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt are also reportedly interested in the young forward.”
I feel like a lot of these english clubs know Nigerians are desperate to play for them that they dont have to do much. The reverse psychology tactic. Plant a seed in their head and make the Nigerian reach out to the club. But Rafiu chose frankfurt. German and other clubs have no problem or not too proud to ask or beg a Nigerian to play for them.
And Machaveli, dont be a baby. How is Iwobi and Bassey doing for fulham? How is now injury prone Awoniyi doing for forest?
Bundesliga is soon gonna be where a lot of upcoming Nigerians entering the top 5 leagues gonna be at. I know Nigerians only watch the premier league thats why they want them to come there. But yall gonna have to start paying to watch other leagues now and stop waiting for highlights or waiting for updated news here where the players playing for how they performed.
This lad is a very good striker skilful and with goal sense,he reminds me of John Utaka.
Viktoria is a legendary club this guy is already a household name in Czech.
