Nigerian para-athlete couple, Alabi Samuel and his wife Christiana, have shared their reflections on their journey at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
Despite falling short of their ultimate goal, the couple remains proud of their accomplishments.

In an interview with Completesports.com, Samuel expressed his determination and faith going into the Games.
“Gold is my target, and I believe in God and in myself,” he stated.
He also highlighted the unique opportunity they had, noting, “This opportunity came for me and my lovely wife, and we are the only couple in the world that has qualified for the Paralympic Games.”
However, their quest for gold ended in the quarterfinals.
Christiana faced a tough opponent in Chile’s Tamara Leonelli, losing 3-1 (11-8, 11-5, 10-12, 12-10) in the round of 16.
Samuel also experienced a hard-fought match, but was defeated by Thailand’s Rungroj Thainiyom in his quarterfinal class.
Following the competition, Samuel took to social media to express gratitude and pride in their performance.
“To God be the Glory, I think we have done our best and performed very well at the Paris 2024 Quarterfinals stage. I believe history will not forget us for our performances. To all our fans, we say a big thank you,” he posted.
The Alabi couple’s journey at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, though challenging, remains a testament to their resilience and dedication.
