Goooaaal! Mozambique has scored
Goal the eagles have equalized
Iam watching the game on Facebook, we are leading 2-1
Damn shame NFF can’t organize a friendly in a standard stadium with fans but will rather resort to using some backdoor training pitch in Portugal……..Nonsense
At least the playing surface is good. Where are the fans gonna come from, on work day by 4.pm.??
Shameful country, where nepotism subsequently fuelled by greed is denying such a great nation, opportunity to be great. NTA can’t even televise this mess. The present NFF is the worst in the history of our country.
@footballfanatics I wonder how these administrators treat our players like kids. We keep humiliating them mentally and psychologically, making them believe or see reason why they shouldn’t put in there best. Look at the stadium a whole National team is playing, ast match insae the NFF chairman with two other women ,our officials are so reach that they can buy all the officials of FA , this is where our money goes. Someone has to speak up . Eagles are not being branded very well. That’s why we see these foreign nationals not giving their best. They are being treated like rats ,this stadium is only a training materials . Hiw can a national team be playing and there won’t be a live streaming of the match . Nff is even disrespecting the fans . This country is sick
Let’s encourage the boys, they are playing well , Mozambique also qualifed for the Afcon and can be a stubborn side on a good day esp when we have Lost to a team like guinea Bissau in recent times..
Simon is my best player in the team and I’m glad he scored the penalty..
That Bashir boy is good and should retain his place in the team..
Pls what is happening to Aribo, he looks a very different player to the player who was a king in Scotland,, I can’t understand what exactly has happened to Aribo, he is trying his best but there are many other players who can better than he is currently playing.. someone like iheancho would have been a beast in that position aribo is struggling to execute..
Kudos to Uzoho, he love his ball distribution , we should take it easy with him.. but let’s see okoye , we are leading with a red card for Mozambique. We need to see what others can give..
Let’s see awaziem again , lets see Umar and give lookman another chance… Let’s see what Boniface can do to a side like Mozambiqu.. I really feel so bad for aribo.. a championship side in stoke destroyed etebo and they just did same to an aribo.. they almost destroyed if they haven’t with okoye.. pls Nigerian players run away from the English championship teams..
By your logic then , Tella was destroyed, Iheanacho (Who is in good form) was destroyed and Ndidi (Who is back to his best) was destroyed.
I think you need to call it what it is ,perhaps Aribo is not that good. He joined Southampton on the back of a wonderful European season and struggled to make the team. Later, he was not making the match day squad. It might also mean that he is struggling with low confidence also.
Uzoho is really bad. That first goal eish
Another goal has just gone in.
You try to understand the coach persisting in playing him in goal today supposedly for the sake of his confidence, but how about the confidence of the players playing immediately in front of him?
Each time a shot flashes past them towards goal, their hearts skip a beat.
Lower your expectations for the Afcon with this dumb ass coach…
Can you confidently tell me who’s winning the AFCON
Senegal was bad in the last AFCON but miraculously won it.
The only take away for these matches is we are beginning to create chances. Perosoko or whatever his name must be joking to think he will win Nations cup with what am seeing . He must have been disillusioned to think less of Nations cup’s quality.
So if Mozambique was not red carded we would have played draw. Hmmm See the ways our defenders are fouling players to prevent them from launching attacks because they know we don’t have a goalie
We have scored all the goals before the red card. You don’t have a point bro.
@Emecco, you don’t understand me if the player red carded was on the pitch possibilities abound that they could have equalized. That’s my point
I’m glad we won but I’m scared for this team going forward especially in goalkeeping department.. I would love to watch the replay of the second goal scored against us..
Pls who saw how Umar was wasting golden chances.. falling to the ground when he needed to be shooting to the net, hope is he not another version of onuachu?
One player that impressed me when he came on was awaziem.. pls this boy should is very needed.. very strong on the ball,, I think he is better than omerue and Jordan combined..
We really miss oshimen and iheancho today.. I think those two are the best attackers that we currently have.. Boniface is still trying to understand the super eagles games but iheancho is a senior man!
If we don’t fix the goalkeeping department , there is no Afcon trophy for us.
I thought you are the one who keeps bigging up the goalie and saying he only needs to improve in one aspect – Abi you think we’re not seeing everything being said here ni? Guy make up your mind and stop flip flopping na beg we dey beg – left to you alone we’d be stuck with Uzoho, We have been saying this since day dot! and nothing has changed- Please shoot straight and let’s not be sending out half baked mixed signals.
The whole game felt like a practice match, our boys almost seemed to be at walking pace most of the game – There was a lot of indiscipline I noticed, it looks as if Peseiro is not a great disciplinarian, it may come back to bite him in the backside- I sincerely hope it doesn’t.
I noticed a very alarming and concerning thing in this game which to be fair I haven’t noticed before and so it may be a one-off or brought on because the game itself seemed like a training session and the opposition were not up to much at all – but the alarming thing was that our boys kept holding on to the ball for too long and in most cases longer than necessary or longer than makes any good sense! What is that all about?? Again, I hope it’s not a “thing” and I won’t see that jazz again!
All in all, just a kick about in a park somewhere but Uzoho still managed to make a mockery of his goalkeeping duties – from now on his new name shall be – Calamity Frank lool
Peseiro really needs to pull his finger out and sort out the following-
1) Get to grips with the team’s discipline or Indiscipline as the case seems to be
2) Find an able goalkeeper or just an able man to man the posts
3)Work on team cohesion, passing and shooting
4) make sure to cut out the tendency to hold on to the ball too long and trying to showboat – whether it’s a thing or not – start drilling that into their heads!
I don yarn my own!
Up SE!
Up Nigeria!
Ire O!
I love our pressing game, We created tons of chances, We never allowed our opponents to Play, we have several shots on target, these are the positives I could pick from the game.
Me too I observed that..
We must understand football has improved in Africa and Mozambique qualifed for Afcon playing very difficult games and wining Benin, Rwanda with Senegal managing just one goal against them Early this year..
Friendly games are meant to know the weakness so they can be worked upon and the strength so it can built with..the following players should give way: omerue, ebuehi, aribo and Umar. While the following players should be welcomed to the team: awaziem, Bashir.
A Player like chukwueze should also give way for a tella, I was glad he wasn’t even on the bench for today’s game and it made a player like lookman to sit up.. we need a tella to take the place of chukwueze.
Another goalkeeper should be invited to the team come November.. many people are angry that Uzoho played full 90 mins but if pesiro fails to get back the confidence of the only goalkeeper he currently has what would be his fate come the Afcon… Okoyo will almost the same as Uzoho so it is better he raises the confidence of Uzoho than risk it on okoye who is also not getting game time in his club.. but another goalkeeper who plays regularly ( I suggest saheed in Sweden) should be called up.
Oh and as for that ref – He better not go and officiate in Colombia because they will just mud him quietly after the game – Ah ah! See like at least 2 stonewall penalties that he did not give?? Even Peseiro wanted to rush the guy! Nonsense!
Uzoho is making me lose interest in SE games and confidence about the SE doing well in January. Paseiro seems to be a bit stubborn, still playing Uzoho in a friendly played on Portugal’s own version of Agege stadium. And I hope he’s not planning on taking fumbling and wobbling Sadiq to the Afcon, cos that’ll be a minus 1 for him.
Uzoho is a time bomb waiting to explode and that will start from world cup qualifiers and nations cup. That guy is a kill joy. Simply put you cant give what you don’t have. We need a better goalie if we want to make an impact in the forth coming Afcon. Has uzoho ever kept a clean sheet? Cant remember if any. He is not even fit to be the third choice keeper.
Let me not go and speak too soon O lool but so far I want to say welldone to CSN – But knowing our boys, as soon as I congratulate them for fixing the disappearing comments and sudden occasional right to left orientation of our comments, the site will revert to that upside down orientation on both axis again SMH loool!
Another laklustre, disappointing outing for SE fans to stomach. Thanks to the useless, incompetent, inept NFF.
Oshodi-Okrika football administrators.
Oshodi-Okrika coach.
What kind of result do you expect? Of course, Oshodi-Okrika result.
Saudi that hired a world class coach in Mancini, do their officials have 2 heads each?
NFF’s BEND-DOWN mentality of sowing low and reaping high has brought us here. Looking for gigantic rewards with tiny, miniscule investment.
Instead of them to judiciously use the funds they obtain from FIFA and other sources to get us quality coaches, what they do is hire Okrika-Oshodi coaches. Ok now, pay the coaches you hired, for where. Pay players, which side? Look at the monumental disgrace they brought on themselves at the last women’s world cup, bickering shamelessly with girls young enough to be their grand daughters because of FIFA money.
Until we get it right administratively, we will continue to underperform! We do have talented players, but talent can only get you so far. Even without star players, a team with good officials will always be competitive. Instead of our officials to work for the benefit of our football, they are busy looking for coaches they can share salary with.
As you lay your bed, so you will lie on it.
Good good performance by the entire team. Enjoyed every bit of the football displayed by SE. But some grey areas to polish going forward. SURELY THIS BEANS WILL BE PROPERLY SOFT BY THE TIME AFCON KICKS OFF.
Glory, you sure say this beans go done by the time Afcon reach?
I hope you are right! But what I’m seeing is just the individual talent of the players. The tactical input is just not there! Place these guys in the hands of a quality coach, and I bet you we will be having a completely different conversation.
If we continue like this, we will surely falter against better drilled, higher quality teams.
But I no too blame the coach. The lion share of the blame must go to NFF. Na dem go carry am for head!
@ brodaman Pompei, trust me, you will remember this my post by the end of AFCON and thank me for it with fullness of joy. Peseiro is producing a killer team that will stand any top team. The only grey area presently, is the goal keeper department and I am sure that will be sorted out before AFCON.
IF not for few mistakes against Portugal, that match would have easily ended in a draw. Try go watch the match again.
Let’s just support this team and be patient to the end.
I hope you are right on this one. If the beans is well cooked by the time Afcon starts, na we all go siddon here enjoy am together.
But if the beans no done, we go dey chop stone and uncooked beans dey go, sotey our belly go dey like kwashiokor belly. Hahaha!
Nobody expects the team to win all the time. That’s unrealistic. But we do expect good performance from the players, and solid input from the coach.
Gbayi @glory, sometimes I started to even scared to comment here because it felt like I’m watching a different game, especially the Saudi game where we dominated and creat 15 to Saudi 4 clear chances, if not for uzoho and if our strikers converted half the clear chances created, we would have been 4-0 up in the Saudi match first half, I will take a team that creat chances and miss to a dull team that defence and creat no chance, I will re-appoint peseiro for the SE anytime anyday, this team we surely get it right and gel.
The only sore point to me is using uzoho. Well, maybe it’s a psychological decision. But he should have used adeleye in the second half.
Good points. He tried new players. The boys pressed and created chances. Two good penalities denied. Two balls in the net in second half disallowed.
I believe this team will take shape before afcon. If only we can get a good goal keeper.
I wonder why Nigerians get scared about afcon. I wonder why. Let’s wait and see.
I just like the all round attacking style of the team.
Dele Bashir good addition. Aribo it’s time to go away. He is not good enough. Sodiq a very useless player indeed.
With a good goal keeper we can win afcon
Someone should tell paseiro stop using 442 formation . Na so we advice rhor hin no answer us till dey sack am . Paseiro if dey sack u now which job u wan get . The earlier the better u use ur brain if u mean business. Going forward our formation should be 4231. A good goal keeper aina . Ajayi bassey and sanusi that’s the defence . The double four should be onyenka and ndidi . And when attacking ndidi Is the only one to move forward let onyenka stay in his holding 4 . Let’s give Bashir the 10 role. Or we give bonafice. The wing simon and kelechi inancho. The 9 should be oshimen . And tell ur players if u knw u wanna play shot it must be on target if not pass to the striker to score . That tall guy sodiq hin no get small ball sense . .paseiro kindly follow my advice and u will surely be happy
Iwobi?
Peseiro has done a fantastic job from what i have seen of his team from the game against Sao Tome and the one today.
Our pressing is spot on.Our passing is better the team showed great quality and understanding. The full-backs overlap and underlap well…They create great numbers of chances but converts very little. It’s not Peseiro’s fault top professional players can’t score even when it’s put on a plate, presenting the attackers with a good scoring chances but poor finishing sadly keeping the numbers low,it takes good coaching to get a team to be dominant,so for that kudos to Peseiro..
Hopefully, the team will improve on their performances before engaging Lesotho next month.
Peseiro is doing a tremendous job. It’s work in progress we have a team to rule Africa next year from what i have seen.
@ brodaman Pompei, trust me, you will remember this my post by the end of AFCON and thank me for it with fullness of joy. Peseiro is producing a killer team that will stand any top team. The only grey area presently, is the goal keeper department and I am sure that will be sorted out before AFCON.

Whatever good we saw from today’s performance is largely due to the individual talents of the players on display. I have tried to be patient with this coach, and I’m inclined to continue to be patient with him, because of his good attitude, but game after game, we keep seeing the same thing. Even if you want to play 4-4-2, let’s see some technical and tactical input! With better tactics, Mozambique for collect today. Same thing against the Saudis.
Imagine us playing like this against Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Senegal, Cote D’Ivoire? Hmmm. We need more input from the coach.
Peseiro has a good attitude, and seems to have a good work ethic. But in football, as in any discipline, good attitude and work ethic is not enough. You have to produce. Beating Sao Tome 16-0 home and away is commendable. But every time we’ve come up against quality opposition, Peseiro’s performance has left a lot to be desired. My fear is that can we rationally expect a different outcome when Afcon starts, if we keep rinsing and repeating the same tired, tepid methods?
@ Pompei
I understand your worry but remember, you can only beat what’s in front of you. In football, every game is different from the last one.
Though the results might not be what I desire ; the fact that we are conceding so many goals is and not really putting away our chances are blight themselves. And off course the weakness in the post called Uzoho. But I can clearly see the input of Peseiro. Atleast stylishly.
He enjoys playing from the front foot . The Portuguese way of attacking with flair having the mindset of ‘ defending by attacking’. Hence his preference for 4-4-2. And with all honesty, the Eagles are keying into this shape. Going by the play in all the matches. The stats say so. We are create lots of chances.
Yet there are questions. Would this tactics work at the big stage? Is Peseiro open to flexibility? Can we atleast get a decent goal keeper?
I suppose only time would tell.
For now, I have seen enough to be a bit optimistic..
When I’m talking now, they will say I have no respect for Nigeria football Federation, how would I?
This NFF AJĘWOMASAN the debtor would prefer to spend all the money they have on Ashawo no be working ladies and turn their ears when we are telling them the bitter truth.
Who does that kę? That pitch Super Eagles played both friendlies have nothing to right home about.
A whole national team of Nigeria playing on such standard? NFF is a disgrace to Africa.
It is almost too late to complain my people. I have warned you all to limit your expectations when it comes to the current NFF, the coach, and the goalkeeping department.
We are not the favorite to win the Afcon shikena. I hope Edoman is reading my comment today?
We have so many abundant talented goalies that are far better than Uzohoand Okoye but why Uzoho can’t be replaced? If you know, you know kę.
We have
No1. Adeleye
No2. Nwabali
No3. Osagwe
No4. Arthur Okoronko
No5. Ojo Olorunleke
No6. Bankole Kayode
No7. Amas Obasogie
Hmmm. Who said we don’t have fanterbulous goalies? Out of these seven goalies, if none of them be chosen to man the post in Afcon, then we all have to ask Oga Paseiro the reasons why he replied on Uzoho and Okoye.
They said I hate Oga Rohr during his time with the Super Eagles, but now, do I hate Oga Paseiro too, ba? Kai, akoba gafara ooo.
I have bn scouting for Super Eagles for free long time ago kę, but still, no result. Do you want me to kill myself because I love my country ni, NFF?
This is getting boring to me, and I can not continue this way.
We have to know the strength of the Super Eagles and the ability of the new coach before the Afcon.
NFF should at least organize two grade A friendly matches for Eagles. It might be African teams or one European and one American team. This will put our players on their toes, but the way it is now, our NFF, players, and the coaching are not ready for the Afcon. Hmmm. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

Thanks Mr. Hush.
Let’s hope for the best. As Glory said, hopefully this beans will be ready by the time Afcon kicks off.
I don buy Agege bread already. Na the beans I dey wait for now. I dey hungry well well.
I hope Peseiro and co. will satisfy our hunger and put smiles on our faces! It is long overdue!
Hahaha @ Pompei, I dey under bridge by ojuelegba dey wait Iya bolanle. Beans go soon soft. Lolzz. Anyway, jokes apart. This team will surely make us proud. I see triumph through fans criticisms. That is how nigerian national teams, most times, end up performing at major tournaments
Thumbs up Pompano, save some agage bread for I n I. Man den will see this team shine.
They should go and beg Freiburg FC goalkeeper with half Nigerian parents in bundesliga.
Noah Atubolu. First team player for his club
