Oya let’s goo!
Summary of eagle’s game today.
Coach was already crying.. he put mtn jacket on to relief his temperature.
2 all the players than were sub, two have played their last game . The one that headed the ball wide and fell down after shooting the ball wide again is bye to the team .
Those that came in to put pressure on the Libyans are full time starter now .the guy that scored th3e goal is now the noba 10 confirmed.
The coach has now promised to monitor oshimen in other to make sure he doesn’t get injury again.
If Benin can beat Rwanda. Then the world cup qualication is still open if eagles can win their next games home and away.
Ah who say stop y’all??
What kinda weak shot ismthat? Seriously, Osimhen’s absence is telling.
On what grounds?
Benin is currently leading Rwanda (1-0)at their adopted pitch in Cote Divoire and is leading our group
We all will thank you later.
Iwobi is doing great in this game.

This guys are just crap. Just playing to the gallery. Lookman is just plain selfish. Even Boniface is overrated. Miss the golden generation of super eagles. This one’s are just over hyped
So far players that impress are
Onyemachi
Ekong
Ola Aina
Iwobi
Onyeka
Others think they are doing training
Hightime the ref. Impose compulsory substitute on this GK, keep calling down and wasting time.
After all the time wasting additional time will be given for 3 minutes pathetic!
So this keeper going to continue this match? Like seriously? If they doing this in Nigeria, I can imagine what to expect in Libya.
No Osimhen no Super Eagles….said it b4 and saying it again.
Extremely boring eagles, boring match
This Chukwueze boy na error. Wrong passes, cannot even score open net with right placement.
Hahahaha…..yall still think Eguavoen is a coach…?
Dude got nothing to offer. That’s why he ever toyed with the idea of inviting homebased players….LMAOoo.
He respects himself by assembling the best of them all who have individual brilliance to make something happen on the pitch.
Seeing this team play sọ far, no one needs a psychic to know they are all just playing based on their individual intutions and on the order that they must attack from the wings.
Win or lose…..NFF please get us a coach…!!!
Why watch the match then if you don’t believe in the coach. Leave the coach alone and channel ur hatred elsewhere. At least u will not come and lie that they played at the back.
….never….
Good observation we have players but we don’t have coach I think NFF are watching this match ordinary Libya teams shame on us even if the Libya team park the bus with type of players we got no one can dribble pass them no urgency from the starting point
Without Osimhen Eagles can’t score well.
An attacking midfielder must carry credible goal threat. Well done Dele-Bashiru!
One hundred per cent!
Hahaha, Nwabali na werey.
Em come fall for ground dey waste time, camera come dey show the Libya goalkeeper.
Yes ooo, Nwabali, keep rollling on the ground. Give the Libyans a taste of their own medicine!
This ref and his assistants are pathetic. So all the time wasted is just 3 mins and 4 mins. Anyways sha this game was boring. Our players need to take this games serious. I forsee a tough match in Tripoli
Eguavoen bringing on Ajayi to defend his late 1 goal lead against a team that is struggling to get the ball across the halfway line…..LMAOoo
NFF….please get us a coach once these qualifiers are over. We have more pressing assignments ahead of us that require more than the individual brilliance of our players.
Like Egu like the rest of the local coaches. They only flexs muscles when individual superiority can do the job….LMAOoo
As long as he’s getting the results the football authorities will keep him.
It’s difficult to see these deficiencies when a team is winning.
Dr. Drey, tiabaleni tiababa ęni, ama npadani. If you are chasing someone and you can’t get the person, then make a U-turn.
Eguavoen has done well, and to my surprise, you haven’t congratulated him yet. At least to appreciate his efforts.
You didn’t say this during the world’s best coach Oga Rohr who ever coached Eagles when he faced Madagascar that gave wotowoto 2-0 to Nigeria at the Afcon kę.
Look, young man, you have nothing to prove because Eguavoen has proven his worth to Oga Rohr and mostly you who believe Oga Rohr is the best coach that ever coached the Super Eagles.
Please give Eguavoen the accolade he deserves, at least for now. 7 points in 3 matches without conceding huh?
Please do the needful young man. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
Libya goalie, you no wan fall for ground again? Nwabali don show you shege?
Hahahaha!
Finally, won the match by whisker. Fisayo is the saviour again. The boy has glory. We need to keep him. He has to play all matches from now. His transition is the best I have seen in the midfield for now. Boni is still a dissapoinment in Eagles shirt. Lots of unsuccessful dribbles.
Libya goalkeeper, you think say you dey wise?
You be mumu man!
Dele-Bashiru sparing the blushes of the Super Eagles again. Way to go boy. Congrats.
This game was just a grand ol comedy show lool
Libyan team is full of clowns – sideshow bob, jagbajantis the ojoro guy, mr smurf and all the rest of the travelling circus – even their attempts at time wasting was wack lol
SE should have beaten these with at least a 7 goal margin, but nevertheless, 3 points earned and we move!
Oh and btw, Yes Iwobi was slightly better in this game, I think primarily because Egu built the team so he wouldn’t have any defensive duties and sensibly yanked him off at a good moment – Eguavoen is really making a fist for this job oo lool!
WE really need to start scoring goals as a team. What a calamitous series of events- only in Africa.
African refs have issues with Nigeria we almost lost again due to weird lines man call but God had other plans.
Nigerians I hope you’re seeing yourselves now, let us fail with our own and I am sure you’re enjoying the boredom your own is giving you oooo.
Coaching is way beyond assembling stars to freely express themselves and viola…….the goals start rolling in.
We all can see England last night with all their EPL and RM stars yesterday playing a disjointed game with no purpose and direction leading to a disgraceful loss at Wembley. Lee Carsely was a piece of trash like our own Ogun efon
Same I sweat is playing on here in Uyo, playing a Libyan team with no pedigree and no threats whatsoever but we cannot conjure any meaningful pattern of play to unlock their defence with all our stars from top 5 teams in Europe.
Let anyone who watched this game with an Eagle eye tell me what coaching input or tactical formation they see in this match? We cannot always rely on Osimhen to be able to win against Minnows like Libya and Rwanda who were demolished by Ghenot Rohr’s Benin effortlessly.
South Africa who is our main rival in the WCQ is already 4 goals up in the 1st 50 mins against Congo playing exciting and enterprising football due to the input of their Belgian 72 years old Coach while our dear SE were toiling hard to score a free goal against a hapless Libyan team.
NFF Onigbese, all we are saying……………give us a World class Foreign Coach………..these local jeunjeun coaches can never lead us anywhere meaningful for God sake
Abeg I no wan see Boniface start again for our team, that guy is an unserious footballer,he can go and play around on social media but in the match days We need a better and a serious player
Congratulate and appreciate the team for their job well done.nothing wrong with the coaching crew they did their best.some of the players are overated that’s just the truth.
Why do we always struggle against teams that park the bus? It’s frustrating, right? We come up against so-called smaller teams, and instead of making light work of them, we end up looking clueless. Teams like Lesotho, South Africa, and now Libya have all come here with the same blueprint: frustrate, disrupt, and hold on for dear life. And what do we do? We fall right into the trap, unable to break them down. Worse still, when Osimhen is missing, it’s like we lose all our attacking spark. The struggle to conjure anything meaningful becomes painfully obvious, and when we do eventually score, it’s from the least likely source.
It’s laughable—here we are, laboring so hard to beat a depleted Libyan side, who, even at full strength, shouldn’t be in the same conversation with us in terms of quality. But here we are, reduced to the same old script: struggle against a packed defense and scrape through. And that’s where I seriously question Eguaveon’s tactical competence. It’s in matches like these that you see the true test of a coach’s technical ability. Where’s the plan B? Where’s the tactical shift that can unlock these defensive setups?
Also, why on earth is Dele Bashiru sitting on the bench? He carries a more direct attacking threat than Iwobi. With Iwobi, it’s all about passing and looking for someone else to make something happen. But Bashiru? He’s looking for goals. If he’d been in those scoring positions that Iwobi found himself in during the game, we might’ve had a different story—at least one of those chances would’ve gone in.
And don’t even get me started on the Libyans’ time-wasting antics. If they score first in the return leg, we could be in serious trouble because they’ll sit back and make it impossible to break them down. We really need to wake up to these tactics, or else we’ll keep struggling in these situations. I just hope the team gets it right before it’s too late. Best of luck to them—they’re going to need it.
Some of you all are filled with hatred? Why blame the coach for this shambolic display by the players. Will the coach enter the field of play to score the needed goals. He paraded some players that needed to vacate the national team. Look at begging chances that professionals couldn’t convert. We just come here on this platform and hype players who are not even qualified to wear the national jersey. Lookman was just selfish and a shadow of himself, same with chukweze, what was his input in the game. Today i just wated some bunch of under 23 playing. Leave the coach of this abeg.
@Kenneth
This one again.. Lookman was not selfish, and contributed greatly, did you not see the standing ovation he got from the crowd, when he was subbed off in the 90 minute for Ajayi. He had another legitimate goal disallowed again today. He has at least 3 legitimate goals chalked off in his SE Career so far. Today, vs Rwanda in Sept and vs Portugal.
If not for all these strange calls…it would be 11 non penalty goals from 26 SE matches.
Would have had at least one assist today if Iwobi had put away one his chances that he had
Which game were you watchiong, what contribution did he make (losing ball up and down) except the only yeye offside call you mentioned. He had chances to lay passes for Boniface, but no would rather over dribble until he loses possession.
@Papafem,always look forward to reading your post.Always spot on..Nice one senior man much respect..
If we are satisfied with what we saw today, then the mediocre and lacklustre displays we keep getting are exactly what we deserve.
We can do so much better than this! But here we are, making ordinary Libya look like Tunisia or Algeria.
Libya with zero goal threat had us on the edge of our seats. If not for Bashiru’s goal, na so we for take draw this game? We might even have lost it sef.
Why o why can’t we play games with URGENCY from the beginning? We were so casual and unserious when the game started, and almost paid a heavy price. All because we got serious too late in the game. The Libyans sensed the opportunity, and started wasting time in ridiculous fashion, with their mischievous goalkeeper taking the lead. The goalie on his own wasted so much time, rolling on the ground like he had been shot at the slightest contact. Which is why it was so satisfying for me when Nwabali did the exact same thing to them shortly after we scored.
We narrowly escaped a huge embarrassment today.

I’m glad we get the needed result. Anyhow is a win, but that doesn’t change the fact that this team lacks direction. Libya hasn’t won a game in their last twelve matches. I watched SA today and I’m like how is this possible. Even though SA too can very inconsistent.
I will believe it’s the few days of training before an important match. Let’s see how they can cope with Libyans antics in Tripoli or Benghazi. Bashiru should our AM going forward. Not the most flamboyant, but gives us a significant goal threat when on the pitch. He has a high level of goal sense in him. Iwobi is a winger I repeat iwobi is a winger.
Boniface at Leverkusen Belleface in Nigeria. No be Meme we go chop abeg step up your game in the SuperEagles color or step out. We have Ilenikhena and Arokodare on the fringes. Even Iheanacho might be a better option for the SuperEagles than Boni at this point
Ndidi and Onyeka in midfield together is like haramball. They can’t function together. Onyedika was a better option a d it shows when he came on. I like Eguavoen but I don’t think he can take this team to where they want to be. If we want to qualify for the WorldCup and do well to win the next AFCON we need a better coach. A foreign coach at that. FLY LIKE AN EAGLE INTO THE FUTURE.
Iwobi na winger. We don talk taya, but they keep using this boy wrongly.
Las las, they will use him as a goalkeeper. Mtcheeeew!
You see, the problem is, these Nigerian coaches want to turn Iwobi into a player he is not. Iwobi is not Henry Nwosu, Friday Ekpo, Austin Okocha, or even Mikel Obi. A player plays on the wings in his club and Nigerian coaches come and put him in the midfield, then hoping for miracle to happen. It will not work.
Fisayo Bashiru has played fewer matches for Nigeria but his rate of return for Nigeria is far better than that of Iwobi. So I don’t understand the sentiment in playing Iwobi ahead of Bashiru. All these sentimental Nigerian coaches should let Alex Iwobi, Simon Chukwueze, Moses Simon, Ademola Lookman, Nathan Tella, Ejuke etc fight for shirts on the wings. This is how you create a dream team that will be feared in Africa. It is not by using name and sentiments to invite and select players for the super eagles.
It is very glaring that our best midfield combination as of today and probably in the future is the combination of Frank Onyeka, Ifeanyi Onyedika, and Dele Bashiru. With any other combinations, the super eagles will struggle. Eguavoen should stop using sentiments to select players for super eagles!
In the attack, Victor Boniface is to the super eagles what Richard Owobokiri was to super eagles during his playing day. Owobokiri was a goal scoring king in Boavista and Europe during his playing days. But he was a passenger in the super eagles. He just couldn’t fit into the team. The same thing is happening now to Victor Boniface. He can’t fit into the super eagles. His playing style does not suite that of the super eagles. So, I don’t know why Eguavoen is wasting space and opportunity by continuing with Boniface. On the other hand what you get with Osimhen is a Rashidi Yekini type of player – goals and goals. He guarantees you goals or goal scoring opportunities in the super eagles. So Eguavoen should start looking for Nigerian strikers with the semblance of Yekini or Osimhen.
let Eguavoen use merit in the selection of his players and he will have no problem beating other teams. He has the rare opportunity to build a dream team for Nigeria because its been a long while that we have had these arrays of Nigerian players scattered all over Europe. If he continues to pander to sentiments in players selection, he will be shown the exit door in the super eagles once again.
Josh men. Great points as always.
My own is, at the end of qualifier, if eguavoen won with game to spare, I want to hear it loud and clear same way we used to hear it when our former coach did it. All this yarn no really concern me, 3 games down, 2 win and a draw, 7/9 that’s above 90% and I will take it.
How is 7/9 above 90%? Not even up to 80%
Dr. Drey, tiabaleni tiababa ęni, ama npadani. If you are chasing someone and you can’t get the person, then make a U-turn.

Shebi we have not qualified for the last 2 AFCONS before Eguavoen took over the SE. That is why I should praise him.
O o ri pe ode alainirori nie.
I should congratulate Eguavoen for Struggling to defeat a team that struggled to get the ball out of their half for 90 minutes….LMAOOoo…He was even subbed on an extra defender to ‘protect his lead’ against a team that didnt enter the 18yrd box for 90 minutes.
I should praise Eguvoen for defeating Libya 1-0 and drawing Rwanda 0-0 with a team that was AFRICAN CHAMPIONS with 45 minutes just in February.
You are Sick in the head. You think I am as jobless as you.
I am sure we were only able to defeat Benin by a wide margin because he was still new on the job and henc caught Rohr unawares with his approach to these games. Otherwise, I am 100 percent sure Benin would have grabbed a draw too
Dont worry, I know you very well, when the time is right, you will be the one to lead those who will call for his sack…..LMAOooo.
That was how you were praising him to be Mr Total Football the other time until he bundled you out of both AFCON and World cup back to back…..LMAOOoo. Since then, your mouth has been suffering from paralysis.
Dr Drey, please get it clear. What matters is that we were able to secure 3 points. It’s not easy to win a team that plays 5 4 1 formation and mostly switched to 9 1 formation. We had to switch from 4 3 3 to 4 2 4 before we were able to destabilise their defence. While the coach switch to 3 4 3 after we scored the gaol. At least, let’s appreciate the coach. He deserves it.
If Eguavoen wants accolades, he should go and coach Togo or Niger Republic and churn out the kind of performance Rohr is currently churning out with Benin in both AFCON and World Cup qualifiers so far.
After getting booted out of AFCON in R16 and world cup by the weakest sides both teams have assembled in decades, Eguavoen has indeed proven his worth….LMAOOoo.
