Nigeria Pillar of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu-Ejidike has charged the Super Eagles to fight with total determination to win when they file out against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa tonight (Wednesday)in their AFCON 2019 Round of 16 match in Cairo, Completesports.com reports.
Chief Agu-Ejidke recalls the surprise results so far at the ongoing 2019 Africa Cup of Nations with minnows trouncing the giants , hence the need for the Super Eagles to be psychologically stable and not underrate the South Africans.
“History is no longer relevant in the round leather game. Therefore, every game should be confronted with all seriousness,” Agu-Ejidike, JP, said.
Agu-Ejidike admonishes Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr to adopt a match day strategy that would ensure that the three-time African champions subdued the aggressiveness of the Bafana Bafana who knocked out host nation, Egypt who had the likes of Mohamed Salah.
“What will be going through the minds of the South African players will be that if they could eliminate Pharaohs of Egypt even with their intimidating spectators, why not Nigeria with scanty supporters. Therefore, the Eagles must be ready to soar higher and above the Bayana Bayana,” he said.
Agu-Ejidike insists that the Eagles have all it takes to reach the semifinals of the 32nd Africa Cup of Nations at the expense of Bafana Bafana and possibly clinch the title on July 19.
