M’Baye Niang has admitted his delight after Rennes confirmed the signing of the striker on a permanent deal from Torino. Niang had been expected to turn his loan move into a permanent switch this summer and the French side have confirmed the development, much to the Senegal international’s delight.

The striker said: “I had expressed my desire to stay for several weeks and I knew this mutual desire. I feel good here, the season was exceptional.” Rennes say the former AC Milan and Watford man has signed a deal that runs until 2023 and they will hope he can build on a fine 2018-19 campaign in at Roazhon Park during which he hit 14 goals from 44 appearances in all competitions.
