The Nigeria Football Federation will on Monday in the Federal Capital, Abuja present to the public the new Head Coach of the Super Eagles, Mr. Mr. Éric Sékou Chelle.
The event has been scheduled for the Media Conference Room of the MKO Abiola National Stadium, by 11am.
Gusau; “We appreciate the fact that Nigerians are very passionate about the game of football, and that is the reason for the different tones of reactions following the appointment of Coach Chelle.
“However, the NFF hereby appeals to Nigerians to come together and support him, as we believe he has the qualities to achieve success with the Super Eagles.
“The NFF will give him all the support that he needs to succeed in the job.”
At Monday’s unveiling, the NFF will also disclose the names of Coach Chelle’s assistants, with the crew to shepherd the Super Eagles B at next month’s African Nations Championship in East Africa, before focusing squarely on the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign, beginning with the matches against Rwanda (away) and Zimbabwe (home) in March.

His a coach that will bring good football and discipline to the super eagles, sir you are to Nigeria I believe in you
I have never seen a dishonest successful coach. So this makes me tip an honest Chelle for success provided @NFF allows him to work and also pay him without much Drama.
So it’s a Malian national that eventually had it when we have the Amunekes, Amokachis, Olofinajas, Sojes. I sincerely wish for a local coach.
@Chima , I like Chelle very much and im ready to support him . Unfortunately u cannot give what u don’t have. This man failed to win a single world cup qualifying match with and was even beaten at home by Ghana which led to his sake. What makes u think he will qualify Nigeria to the world cup? This gamble should have been with someone who understands what its takes to qualify a national team for the world cup .
Great comment. Faith in this coach has no justification. NFF are playing Russian Roulette with Super Eagles. If this Mali man fail they must all resign.
Have you seen Brazil get a coach from Honduras? This is a joke. A pack of lions choosing a dog to be their leader, who does that?
A lot of folks are talking down on this guy just simply bcos he’s Malian and it is so sad. What was Keshi’s resume in coaching prior to qualifying Togo for the World Cup? Who knew Clemence Westerhof before his adventure in Nigeria.
C’mon guys let’s give this guy a chance.
The way elections into NFF are presently conducted should be scrapped and replaced with a process that will allow for the best of us from our football community to administer football n Nigeria.
