The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has disclosed that Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr will submit the list of players that will confront the Squirrels of Benin and Crocodile of Lesotho in a 2021 Africa Cup of Nations on March 22 and 30.
A close source to the Federation made this known to Completesports on Friday, where it was also revealed that the list may arrive next week.
Nigeria is top of Group L on eight points from four games while Benin is second on seven points. The clash in Benin may decide the fate of both teams as they hope to qualify for the bi-annual tournament.
The source said all hands are on deck to ensure that the best players are selected by Rohr for the encounter.
“We’re still expecting the list of players from Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr. Like you know, Nigeria will face Benin on March 22 before confronting Lesotho on March 30 in a 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
“We don’t want to leave any stone unturned because the team must qualify for the tournament. It will be a collective effort because we don’t want to give Nigerians any excuses.
“We must invite our best players for the two games and ensure that the players are well motivated to also give out their best.”

Lets wait and see who and who makes the list first.
No wahala. We are waiting for the list. I am expecting Sodiq, Dessers, Onuachu and Other top striker to be on the list.
Scoring goals or not, Oga Rohr did not know the quality of Dessers.
Super Eagles needed a coach that value qualities not the league the players are playing in.
Aghahowa did not play in Barcelona or Real Madrid but Jo Bonfrere saw his qualities and he included him and Aghahowa even played and scored 3 most beautiful goals in that Afcon 2000.
Nonetheless, Maja is another player. We have them.
Instead of recycling players please NFF hire a new set of coaching crew to take Nigeria to the next year Afcon in Cameroon period.
I won’t be surprised if Ighalo and Akpeyi made the list.
The coach can not build Super Eagles like this. He doesn’t have confidence and trust in Eagles and I don’t think it would be a better idea for him to continue.
I can’t wait to see Amunike, Egbo and Enyeama to take over from Oga Rohr and Mr. Agu.
It is very frustrating seeing our players doing well and Oga Rohr can’t take the advantage of that to build a fantastic team less than two years in steady of five years?
We still don’t have what we can boldly call a solid team of ours since over the four years. Anyways, it is too early to talk. We are watching.
History will remember you NFF. I won’t say beyond this. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
Omo9ja or whatever you address your unreasonable sef. Come off it, boy! You need to start reasoning with your head rather than your heart. Dessers ko, Desert ni. You’re always speaking backwards. You’re such a blunder when it comes to football, especially Nigerian football. It’s always easier said then done. If Rohr does not include the players you highlighted, go and take over as the coach. Complete Sports, is it news that a list of players invited for a game will be submitted?
Yes, Bonfere Jo did and Julius scored two beautiful against the Senegalese and that was in the quarterfinals of AFCON 2000. The Senegalese were leading 1 nil, less than 8 minutes remaining before Julius scored two goals. We went ahead to beat South Africa 2 nil and those were two quick goals scored in the first-half and thereafter lost to Cameroun on penalties after 2-2 draw. Victor Ikeba missed his kick but after replying the reply, it ought to be a goal. That was how Cameron robbed us with Isah Ayatu as the CAF President. Quite unfortunate that some of you don’t really know much about football. Only to make noise here.
@kingS…..please don’t mind that guy,we are used to his senseless writings……he talks a lot of nonsense…….BONFERE JOE TOOK JULIUS AGHAOWA TO YEAR 2000 AFCON…..its hightime people began to reason from their anus
We are waiting oga Rohr
JUNIOR AJAYI OF AL AHLY OF EGYPT, LOOKMAN OF FULHAM MUST BE INVITED THIS AROUND. Leave out of kelechi iheanacho
For me, I really do not think Rohr has something spectacular to offer to Nigeria after seeing what those foreign coaches did for us. These coaches were all charismatic during the game and held their own. Rohr broke our record against South Africa and many more.
Oga Rohr,
This week that just finished was the next week you talked about last week.
Abi complete sports, una info no dey genuine?
You’ve forgotten NFF still has to “vet” the list…? Not forgetting compliance with “local content” laws that need to be “ensured”. Nowadays the whole of Africa releases teamlists before Nigeria does….Lolz.
