The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has offered Super Eagles boss, Gernot Rohr a brand new contract, but Completesports.com understands that it will come with stringent conditions.
Rohr on his own part is open to listening to offers from other football associations (FA) from January 1, 2020, but the NFF wants to retain the Franco-German until after the World Cup in 2022.
The new contract terms, Complete Sports, gathered will require that the former Bordeaux player and chief coach “must” live in the country (Lagos or Abuja).

He will also be allowed to travel on vacation only 3 times in a year. Also, the coach will not get an improved pay from his $55,000 per month deal.
The NFF will also ensure, unlike in the past three years where he earned wages tax free, that his income will be levied.
All his selections must be approved by the NFF Technical Committee.
Meanwhile, the NFF has also decided that all Nigerian U-17 footballers will surrender economic right to the NFF.
Any player linked to agents will have to choose whether to play for Nigeria or go with their agents. NFF will also sign with players’ parents.
With all these conditions, it is not yet certain if Rohr will accept the new parameters of his contract but in the past, he expressed his desire to continue on the job.

hmmm….
With all these conditions especially the tax levy on his salary (which is proper) but without any increment and the final approval of whatever list he comes up with is an indirect way of sacking him. I don’t think rohr will accept this nonsense new contract.I can see odegbami’s hand writing written all over it but make una continue, mr rohr go leave the job for una to manage very soon, then, u can bring ur imama (who is celebrates failure) and Aigbogun (egunje master) to manage the team. Ndi Ada!
You are very right, if Rohr leave ?Nigeria football will fall again with their useless local bribery coaches, egunje coaches
****Who celebrates failure
****ndi Ara!!!
If he choose to go let go. Emmanuel Amunike is there to replace him.
Well said, Oakfield. Well said.
“All his selections must be approved by the NFF Technical Committee”
That is to say some or all of the list Rohr has been releasing ever since has not been approved by the NFF? Damn! And Rohr’s list has always been a very good one to a very reasonable extent.
Let’s wait and see if Rohr would accept these terms anyways, then keep close tabs on the so called NFF approved list.
The success and failure of our national teams most especially the #Super Eagles lies in the hands of NFF, I’m keeping my fingers crossed
Why must Rohr live in Nigeria when the selectable players are all overseas?
Where does Tite live please and where are his ‘selectable’ players based?? Just asking
Who is Tite?
The BED does not want Rohr. They’re simply frustrating him to leave. If he accepts to stay in Nigerua they’ll ask him to live in a house in Ajegunle. If he eats potatoes theyll recommend eba. Rather than be humiliated I’d go if I were Rohr.
The NFF does not want Rohr. They’re simply frustrating him to leave. If he accepts to stay in Nigeria they’ll ask him to live in a house in Ajegunle. If he eats potatoes theyll recommend eba. Rather than be humiliated I’d go if I were Rohr.
This is shameful. Odegbami and co are laughing maniacally, and soon would be busy pocketing players’ commission windfall. And then there would be a precipitous crash on our FIFA ranking. And then Congo DRC will secure Rohr’s services. And then a revolt in NFF sweeping Pinnick off to Asaba … and the return of Giwa. A full-blown mess. I’ll polish my rusty school French, even learn German to follow Rohr’s exploits.
What a disappointment!
It is a breach of contractual laws and ethics to announce a man’s job contract and terms of reference on the pages of newspapers before negotiations have started. Is this a fresh job advert or the renewal of an existing contract? Besides the details or threats given are not performance based. Why does the NFF behave like a bunch of corrupt illiterates?
They are a bunch of corrupt illiterates.
The new contract has really shown that the NFF IS ‘A VERY VERY ‘ serious group of administrators. They gave a new contract with no new incentive or increment- that is very humane? They want to thinker , juggle ,approve and disapprove the coach’s list of invited players- yes that would have been UN-Nigerian if there is no MAN-Know-MAN (wayo, mago mago, jibitii) and doctoring of the final list before it is released to the unsuspecting public. Rohr is so humble and successful as his results has shown. Let’s watch and pray.
What nonsense contract with conditions is this? You mean, Rohr’s salary will now be taxed without any increase in the original sum? In essence, he’ll be earning less than $55,000 he is currently earning. Why not at least add a little increase that will be equal to the amount taxed, so it’s not like you’re cutting his salary or reviewing it downwards?
And you want to be vetting his SE list for matches too? You don’t say! So, we’ll start having strange names smuggled in by big guns in politics and Abuja, just like Aigbogun and Imama’s list of average players that have repeatedly embarrassed the flag?
Pinnick should know that if Rohr rejects this boobytrap contract and leaves (which is a 50% possibility), he (Pinnick) and his board should also get ready to leave. They’ll not get any press or public sympathy or support when Giwa comes back with his troubles or Buhari or Magu’s EFCC comes calling again. We’ll support them to investigate and push you all out this time around.
You are very right
So far I want to appreciate you guys that have expressed your opinions on the issue of Rohr’s contract. To say the least I am disappointed that the NFF president and his cohorts can reason this way. It’s appalling. Anyhow Mr Rohr don’t allow this pocket of rascals and parasites to rubbish your highly valued credential. At best, I suggest that you take your bow and honorably leave the stage. For your information Mr Rohr has entered in annals of Nigerian sports history.
All Nigerians should now be on notice that they have no foreign couch any more. Odagbemi has got his way. l can bet that Nigeria will not qualify for the next World-cup, just as Nigeria shamefully failed to qualify for the Olympics in Japan with those corrupt stupid home made couches the NFF exploited.
Evil and wicked country, can you NFF look back to your history how you guys messed up Nigerian football? from when i was a kid nothing good come out from you lots, you guys were part and parcel of Late Keshi demise, out of all our ex good players, you guys barigaged the coaching job from them, form under 17 to Under 23, see how you guys almost killed Sunday Oliseh, he had to run, now this man Rohr brought good to the senior national team, all you giving him to a rope in his neck, politically, sports,Entertainment all is failure, Mr Rohr please do not sign the contract, a disgraceful nation. AMAJU ARE YOU THERE AND THEY GIVING THIS KIND OF CONTRACT. VERY WICKED AND EVIL CONTRACT. YOU GUYS CAN KEEP IT, AND BRING IN YOUR STUPID LOCAL COACHES. INSULT.SPOILING THE COUNTRY’S IMAGE ALL THE TIME.
Pinnick is a compromised idiots, he wants to kill SE the same way he kills other national teams. He should have just sack Rohr, instead of ridiculing the guy like this. Kojo Williams is the best for NFF job, Pinnick is another corrupt soul just late Taiwo Ogunjobi and others.
Hahahahahaha….this is wonderful….awesomely fantastic.
I just have 1 advise for Rohr…! Leave now when the ovation is loudest.
If you take this contract, you will become a slave of this crooked FA of ours and you will fail.
This is that self destruct button NFF always presses when a coach is getting in their way.
Rohr, pls go to other countries who are serious and will value you.
A new contract with less pay, travel restrictions, undermining your judgement and team selections…is that progress or regress…? All these 3 years when they’ve not been scrutinizing the list, we’ve had selections strictly by merit, so on what basis do they now want to start scrutinizing it.
NFF will now own the economic rights of all U17 players…So our FA officials now want to also become player managers, so once you can’t give them your rights, you will NEVER come near of U17 national team…and we expect to have the very best of selections…?
The era of our national teams becoming a jankara market of some sort & private businesses of the FA officials are returning.
The NFF has tried so hard to conceal their true intentions before now, the real reasons why they don’t want Rohr, the reasons they’ve been trying to plot for his failure and that of the team since AFCON, but they can’t anymore…it has all been about what they will chop and how they will make money from the SE.
Soja go, soja come, barrack go remain.
Rohr pls leave and let Pinnick and co bring in their stooges that they can toss around anyhow. We we go kuku continue to support our SE..abi Wetin man go do
What a wonderful new year gift to Nigerians.
I hope Chief Segun Odegbami, MON is happy now.
Don’t sound like oga Rohr is perfect in his team selection, what is onuachu still doing in the team? Though Rohr is manageable but not that perfect as you painted him.
Onuachu has scored 7 goals in 15 matches this season. Pls tell us which other Nigerian striker apart from osimhen has that magnitude of goal per game ratio. Last season he hit close to 20 goals. On the basis of that alone he MERITS at least a call up….and that has been d hallmark of Rohr’s selections thus far…MERIT.
Oga Rohr’s selections are still the most credible selections we’ve had in the SE since the days of Westerhoff. Go Argue with the records
Cyriel dessert is far better than onuachu
Hahahaha…that was how some people also told us Onuachu was far better than ighalo last year when he was having a banner of a season Until dude came and saw that national team isn’t bread and beans.
That Cyriel is having his breakout season doesn’t make him FAR BETTER…Let him prove himself in the national team first when he eventually gets his invite before jumping into conclusions. Paul’s career numbers till date disagrees with your assertion.
Don’t forget Dessers still has Umar and Osimhen to contend with…so don’t get ahead of yourself yet.Lolz
Onuachu has no business with the team, not really doing well
That wil be outright wickedness…. I can’t blieve diz news….. How can they treat Rohr diz way…. Is it bcos he is a foreigner???
Completesport i’m sorry, i won’t blieve diz news until Rohr comes out to clearify it…..
These are my summations:
1) NFF are stupid, self centered, and callous.
2) I know Mr Rohr love SE and mean well for this country. This is the first Coach among few that coach the SE without having problem with any of the players. The prayers love and respect him. Me Rohr reject the conditions and leave. You are a good coach and you can never lack suitors.
3) All the SE players should revolt against the evil NFf and hence forth stop playing for Nigeria until the needful is done my these evil men called NFf.
4) lastly, let Nigerians stop supporting the SE and stop buying the Jessy until these evil NFF do the needful.
Thanks.
I thought Buhari said his government would fight and end corruption in the country, why is this man Pinnick and the rest of his NFF board not being arrested and detained for the millions of FIFA grant and sponsorship dollars that grew wings under their watch, or did they join APC and have their sins forgiven?.
This man runs no known business but he owns houses in England.
(CAF and FIFA grant keep disappearing from NFF coffers).
These are common thieves and criminals with no brains. Normal people reward good work with better offers and incentives but the ideots we have in our country are always working against the interests of Nigeria.
This contract offer if true, shows that Amaju Pinnick and his NFF board are enemies of Nigeria and Nigeria football. They are looking at their actions as a punishment because they had to get back at Rhor for making it public that he was owed some months of his salary and the praise he gets from Nigerians for the transformation of the Eagles, but they are so stupid to realize that the Eagles is not going to be the same if Rhor quits the job.
The fastest way to kill a country or an organization is to place an enemies of the country or the organization incharge of it which is what we always do in Nigeria.
We always put criminals in leadership positions but act surprised and turn around to complain when they start displaying what they are really known for.
You don’t need buhari to fight corruption, FIFA can do it themselves. If you have prove of mismanagement by pinnick and his group, kindly send it to fifa and you will see how fast they will react, But if its just hear say, abeg let it slide
Well i see nothing wrong in the new contract, except with the wording that the technical team as the final say to a teams list. before we criticize the NFF, there must be a reason for them to come up with such conditions. I remembered vividly when Rohr took the helms of affairs, one of the conditions given to him was to develop our league, to unearth potential eagles players. Now the question is how do you do that from abroad. And i don’t know any foreign coach from other parts of the world that operate from there home base.( I might be wrong). In respect to his salary and withholding tax, how is that an issue, That’s almost 20 million Naira in a month (N440 Million in a year) and we asking him to operate from abroad, are you guys kidding me. Please are there civil servants or ordinary workers in the house.
With the under 17, i want to believe they are trying to protect the futures of this kids. Many of us are aware of the drama this kids go through. Signing with different agents and not knowing the implications.
Honestly saying the technical team as the final say is over the board. At least if they had said will be jointly vetted by the coach and technical committee, people will not feel biased.
@ADE “With the under 17, i want to believe they are trying to protect the futures of this kids. Many of us are aware of the drama this kids go through. Signing with different agents and not knowing the implications.”
I want to believe that my mother is a virgin and my mother is a virgin is not the same. However wanting to believe something doesn’t make that a fact.
It is not a coach’s job to develop the league, development of the league is the responsibility of League Management Company and Nigeria Football Federation(LMC and NFF).
Am trying to make sense of your comment here. I never put the sole responsibility of our league in the hands of the coach Rohr, he was tasked to assist in unearthing new players by watching our leagues and making suggestions on how to improve our leagues.
Now Mr Sunday Dare, the sports minister, the ball is in your court. If you allow Mr Rohr to abandon the job as a result of all the aforementioned challenges you will certainly regret it. NFf is under your portfolio. Mr Rohr is a positive and credible character who has been working so hard to make Nigerians happy via SOCCER. PLEASE STEP INTO THIS MATTER WITHOUT DELAY TO STEM THE TIDE. Thanks
And if you don’t see nothing wrong with the new contract proposal, I don’t know what to tell you then.
Bros, you have nothing to say. He is free to run the affairs of the super eagles from europe and be collecting N 2o million naira every month even when the eagles are not engaged.
Pls show us a copy of his last contract where he was tasked with unearthing players form a league that is perpetually on break and how the administration of the league is a business of the national team coach. The best of the best form this rag tag league cannot even get big clubs in Africa, talk more of modest clubs in Europe…that is the league you want the coach to waste time on, when our best talents are scattered across Europe waiting to be scouted. Most of the young emerging talents in Europe today never played in the local league. Our legaue never develops players….it kills players. Expecting to see talents in the NPFL is like drilling a well in the desert.
Rohr is not a civil servant, he’s an expatriate engaged on a contract…what ever taxes accuring from his contract should be borne by the NFF not by the coach. It’s daylight robbery to offer him a new contract in which his taxes will be deducted from his contract sum without even increasing it. I will loose my respect for Rohr if he agrees to this stupid offer. It’s utter disrespect…this is the first time I’m hearing of such and arrangement in my entire professional career. Only a desperado like our local coaches will submit to this kind of disrespect.
As for the U17s…we’ve gone down that road before and it ended up in disaster. The NFA attempted to do same with the 1985 squad…it failed and derailed most of those kids careers. Same thing with the 2007 squad…similar results…failed. most of those guys had their careers rubbished. There are more sensible ways of handling the economic rights of the U17s…and is not by forcing dem to sign for the NFF…that’s robbery and reaping from where they didn’t sow. No agent will ceed the rights of a kid he has been sponsoring for years to some NFF official out of the blues…it’s monkey dey work baboon dey chop. And this will deny quality players from making it into our U17 national team. Already we have heard stories of NFF officials owning academies and forcing their players on the coaches…this policy is just aimed at legalizing this illegality.
This Man must not accept this contract, this’s a trap, common Pinnick if you don’t want the guy anymore let him go, by setting up the guy to fail would also affect Nigeria soccer big time. We might not agree on Rohr tactics at times, but the Man invitees are based on merits, for me I will take that anytime against those useless pay and play Nigerian coaches.
Guys don’t worry I ve seen this movie before is called Sai Baba, this’s how ppl were clamoring for changes under Goodluck Jonathan and they brought in the hyenas now ppl are getting chopped up left and right.
Sunnyb kudos you’re the only one who can tell where this is coming from. Buhari 2020 has just started. People will not ask why Pinnick will purposely want Nigeria to fail?
Nigeria we need to think outside the box. Same pinnick who hired Rohr will want to frustrate him by cutting down his contract and giving other strange conditions
Hahahaha…are you not one of those who has been clamouring for Rohr to be kicked out like Good luck…?
I wish to congratulate you now that your wishes are coming true. Get ready for the heartbreak you and you fellow haters are about to bring to Nigerians. Pinnick has heard your cries and is acting accordingly.
Don’t even dare try to absolve yourself of all these nonsense that is happening now. We know you and the rest of your cahoot.
Let something bad happen to our dear SE this 2020 and you will be done for..!
LMAO…God don begin catch devil.
Can everyone now see what I have been saying about odegbami and his group or ex cricket players including fashunu the lost?? Can u now piece the puzzle together with regards the last garbage epistle of odegbami and the new terms and conditions contained in the frustrating, suicidal contract?? Who are the board of the NFF???? Of course, owners and partners of some football agencies who do not care about the progress of our football. Mr rohr has been a bad market for them since he came on board, he picks the players he believes can do the job for him, hence, rejecting or dishing in the bin most players that would’ve been imposed on him by the afore mentioned corrupt individuals to make money. It is so pitiful that pinick who vowed to give rohr a free hand in picking his players haa started dining with the devil and hence this garbage of a contract. They want to install a coach who they can control, someone who they can initiate into their occult of corruption. imagine a coaach who failed woefully in the eyes of the world and in the history of our football with the Olympic and under 20 teams coming out to say that he performed well without no one from the top brass coming out to rebuke him. Yes, they’d never say pim bcs they’ve achieved their aim to the detriment our football, money has excahnged hands and their bank accounts are screaming while we suffer of heart break and disappointment. They don’t care bcs they are wicked. I’ve been expecting to read an article by the main ex, cricket international regarding the shameful utterance of imama but nothing, absolutely nothing yet! He has conspicuously gone dumb all of a sudden. Brace up guys bcos our darling team that has begone to rise remarkably will soon become a laughing stock again in the world. The era of “super chicken” is loming, calculators will soon become a scarce commodity and many would be sent to their early graves out of heartbreak. Odegbami, co are fraud!!!!! U guys should see what is happening!!! Rohr is being seen as an obstacle to their biz hence the reason why they want him out. Rohr is a German and I strongly believe he will take an honorable bow to save his name. Pitiful corrupt parasites!!!!!
NFF and Rohr contract dilemma has nothing to do with General Segun don’t silent those who fights for the sports of the country. This is why i feel sorry for Sowore putting his life in line for citizens who don’t understand the battle he is fighting.
Is it segun who has being running the nff or paying rohr or is segun friends with pinnick?
Let us learn to respect our past heroes even if we later produced better talents than Segun and co!
@chima Samuels…..for u to see the truth and cover it bcs of sentiments shows how gullible u are. Yes,u find it hard to believe bcs of his past glory and the love u have for him but the truth remains he is the chief architect of mr rohr’s contractual dilemma. Ur refusal to accept the truth absolutely changes nothing.
Guess it is a crime now for segun odegbami to express is displeasure with whats wrong with the team. Is it not the same thing you guys are doing here saying the team is NFF is wrong in bringing up such contract. Na wa for Nigerians. @Oakfield i just asked a question from everyone here is it ok to be collecting N 20 Million every month and you only show up 3 weeks to a game. and you go back to Europe. Does that make any sense. And can you name a cocah that does that in Europe.
Pinick Amaju is a criminal and he has proven it with this devilish contract to Gernot Rohr.
Inasmuch as I want Gernot Rohr to stay, I will never advice him to accept such insult in the name of contract renewal.
Many African countries want him and he should take his time to choose.
As per Pinick Amaju and his gang of criminals, if Nigeria fail to qualify for Qatar 2022 world cup, they must be jailed for daring to toil with the happiness of millions of Nigerians.
My advice for Pinnick is to resign if this influence is coming from the political hierarchy. Good name is better than silver and gold.
We should ask ourselves how the once upon messiah pinnick started acting like a devil starting with the more retrogression of our league?
Nothing good can come out of Bhuari’s government except God gets involve even this new minister who is like a messiah you all will see the end products. When a president is good at using good people to counter and strike the nation then we will know we are ruled by the devil himself called Bhuari.
The only fault I have in the newly proposed contract is the clause that says: “All his selections must be approved by the NFF Technical Committee.” To me, this is not the practice globally. The FA does not interfere with Players’ selection in modern football. This is absurd, and I know Gernot Rohr will not accept it; and if he goes, then, from now on I turn my back on NFF. Right now, I am seeing the characteristics of “1994 Squad” in the present Super Eagles squad and if Rohr leaves, the whole system will collapse again and Nigeria will suffer for another 25 years or more before we can have this type of formidable squad.
Those who mentioned Segun Odegbami’s hand in the matter are right, because Segun Odegbami has been campaigning for his removal right from when AFCON was going on, going by his utterances. Meanwhile, I subscribe to the suggestion of protest by the Super Eagles players in terms of games boycot. This is nonsense.
2020 will be the year the Super Eagles will die and decay. Responsibility will rest squarely on the corrupt people running our sports currently who are so interested in their own pockets and less in the masses of soccer-loving Nigerians and the honour of the nation. This country keeps suffering at the hands of thieves and parasites, and I don’t know why up until now President Buhari has not swept the entire NFF into jail with that APC broom
Why the hullabaloo about Rohr’s contract.
Rohr with is great achievement with SE should be able to get a better offer elsewhere.By now, numerous offers should be pouring in. He who pays the piper dictates the tune. One thing I’m sure if is best SE coaches of all time: Otto Gloria, westerhof, Bonfere, Keshi and Amodu would be happy to have this type of opportunity!
@Larry, I beg to differ. The payer cannot always dictate the tune. Obviously the people in the Glass House are not always logical and strategic in thoughts. I think they tap into this forum for deeper insights on running Nigerian soccer. To say they can dictate which player the coach may invite is completely wrong. YOUR BLANKET STATEMENT WON’T HELP THEM SEE THE FAULT IN THEIR REASONING, considering the Nigerian context. Rohr, though he has severally demonstrated humility and and obedience, is a powerful world coach, not a beggar as misconstrued by NFF, and will turn his back at this punitive contract. The question now is who will be the losers? These fellows are so bent on taking their pound of flesh that they have failed to perceive the risks and gloomy failure starring at them.
Since they can dictate the tune as u said, then they should as well coach the team themselves, after all explayers like ikpeba, okocha, garba lawal, Patrick Pascal are in the NFF board. They should take over the team since they know more than the coach to d point of dictating what and what not be done. Bunch of ignoramuses…!
I’m appalled at the extent to which pinnick (abi na picniic abi na pikin) has fallen from the desired path. He started out with so much promise and common sense that he garnered tons of goodwill from us the masses. Lately it is as if, as some others have also pointed out, he’s either being puppeteered or he is actually showing us who he truly is after-all. Just about all his recent decisions have been met with loads of head scratching and derision, be it the handling of youth team coaches and dennerby, the local league, the choice of super eagles match venues, decision to even try to host the u-20 womens WC and now this handling of Rohr’s contract offer.
Forget the rumored terms of the contract for just a moment, just the mere fact that this was leaked is bad business and news. Oga Pinnick wetin na. You started out making us think a new era of professionalism was taking over our beloved football but more and more its looking like you are running a ragtag operation. Why does it seem that we cannot allow anything good to continue in this our country? Its painful to follow
A contract involves 3 basic elements. These are offer, acceptance and consideration. The process of renewing rhor contract will definitely terminate at the stage of offer. The terms proposed by nff are not only onerous they are also ridiculous. A coach of a national team that consists of foreign based players is expected to stay in Nigeria and coach the players .how will he monitor these players . Nigeria will not qualify for the next world cup without rhor and the first victim of our failure to qualify will be mr panick or picnic himself. Fifa cannot save him and nff. Once nfa board is dissolved the only step fifa will take is suspension for few months from international competitions and an interim committee will be constituted to run football in Nigeria.
The only thing wrong is the area of player selection and subsequent approval by NFF… That may not be entirely bad considering that Rohr has a knack for sometimes calling up strange players and putting some in-form good players on standby… He has been putting peter Olayinka on standby a case which can’t be justified on ability and all-round gamesmanship… Olayinka is even a more quality player than Alex Iwobi who keeps blow hot and cold… Again why the call an Okoye a third division goalkeeper who you have no confidence in starting in games… as for the continued invitation of the likes of goalkeeper Ezenwa and Daniel Akpeyi who fumbles when it matters most… There are question marks there! Again… Rohr should have released some young players for the U-23 tournament in Egypt… We could have qualified and assembled a crack team for that tournament in next Olympics… He took full squad to Lesotho and I can’t understand why he will do that seeing we have avalanche of experience players in Turkey above 23yrs and the likes of Olayinka places on standby wasting a good mix of quality players that could have been properly juggled between U-23 and SE… However one looks at it missing the Olympic soccer tournament is a setback for potential team B of foreign based professionals and local ones who could have used the Olympics to prrpare for their super Eagles chance and advanced their careers… Playing Lesotho and Benin with mostly all good u-23 players who ought to have played just key two games in Egypt tournament for the U-23 was very unintelligent on the part of NFF/Clueless Imama Amakapabo/Rohr…
Please tell this forum how an olayinka, who is a winger should take the position of an iwobi who plays as an attacking midfield. Again, educate us how you want Rohr to release players to u23 tournament which is not a fifa graded tournament without the consent of their clubs. Again inform us which goalkeepers are out there who are better than the ones we have right now.
WANTED: SuperEagles HighFidelity MatchPredictor/Analyzer (software)
NEED: Me and my gang (company) will acquire the full rights to the prototype of this software. We will commercialise it for the benefits of the Nigerian masses for the purpose of predicting matches involving the SuperEagles. This software is needed now because our soccer will soon become unpredictable.
SPECIAL FUNCTION: A function must be inserted to counsel users against self-harm if the results of matches are overly negative against the SuperEagles.
ELIGIBILITY: All African computer nerds/technologists except — South Africa, Ghana, Cameroon, Algeria. Offers from Zambians and Ivory Coast may be considered in exceptional circumstances.
COST: You just quote your price.
TIME NEEDED: I suppose very soon at the conclusion of the contract renewal of our national coach.
Achi, as we speak, I have started hunting for my calculator. I have not used it in such a long time, I don’t know where I kept it, and I’m afraid I might have lost it!
So please, I beg you, let me place an order for your device now. I know that you have not yet started to mass produce this much needed device, but I’m hoping you will sell it on a first come, first served basis, which is why I’m placing my order so early!
Thanks in advance!
Wao! Pompei. I’ll sell the Predictor to you. You won’t need your calculator again. But for added precaution, you’d need to have handy a glass of water and two Panadol tablets ready whenever the SE are playing.
Hahahahaha! Nice one. Achi, you forgot to add that I also need to keep my blood pressure meds handy. With Rohr’s imminent departure, we will be going back to the days when watching SE matches puts an individual at elevated BP level risk. We have not even mentioned chronic depression meds, which will be needed when the poor results start rolling in again!
I dont see why rohr is given any chance to continue is rubish. He is no where close to a worldclass coach he should go and coach falcons not eagles. He havnt achieved anythin gud for us infact he is lucky. Rohr selection has always been bad for us. He couldnt invite kalu to worldcup and kept iwobi at the bench when etebo was giving out possesions to the argentines yet rohr was looking like mumu there like spectators keeping the man that brought him to the world cup in bench. At the nations cup we havnt lost to algeria since 1990 but rohr couldnt creat a magic. Parading musa and ighalo up to semifinal when onyekuru and osihmen kalu was in ur bench it shows u are a baby coach. Finally rohr selection cost us olimpic. If he was vigilant enough he should have allowed osihmen and chukueze awaziem and maduka go for olympic we have players that can bit benin and lesotho but our zombie of a coach begin pack everybody go lesotho like say na uroguay he they play. At the end we are not in the olympics. Wat have we achieved with rohr. For me is nothing. When keshi was in charge we where 21 in fifa ranking.
This contract offered to Rohr is obviously a POISONED CHALICE. It is meant to humiliate Rohr in the hope that he will throw in the towel.
The contract is silent on some pertinent issues though:
1) Is Rohr allowed 3 square meals a day?
2) Can Rohr go to the restroom whenever he feels pressed, or must he obtain permission first before proceeding.
3) Is Rohr required to become proficient in a Nigerian language in the next 6 months? If yes, which language?
4) Is Rohr required to prostrate himself before the NFF board members anytime he comes before them? And must he say “BABA NI YEN!” and hit his head on the floor 3 times everytime he DOBALEs for them?
The questions are numerous, but let me stop here.
Laughable conditions indeed! Once again we grab the OLD SHOT GUN, and take aim at our feet! Our finger is hovering dangerously over the SELF DESTRUCT button.
It is now obvious that the biggest enemies of Nigerian football are its supposed custodians. The NFF are HELL BENT on destroying the only good thing we have in football at the present time. If Rohr leaves, which is beginning to look likely, we will be right back in the DARK AGES. And we all know exactly who to blame!
i dont see anything wrong with these terms giving to oga rohr.
the truth is rohr will fail in any other country if he get signed. because countries have no talent like the super eagle.
we can get another foreign coach that have different mentality from rohr.
though super eagle has improve his CV which will get him work easily. but he will fail, because he is not that good.
happy newyear to everyone in advance.
whats
Hehehehehe super eagles has improved his CV….LMAO.
So if the SE wasn’t improving, if we are now ranked in 121st position in FIFA rankings instead of 31st from No 71 we were when he took over, if he hasn’t restored our pride and put the SE back on the global map his CV would have improved….LMAO.
Why didn’t Christian Chukwu’ CV improve too..? Why didn’t Berti Vogts, Eguavoen, Siasia, Lagerback, Oliseh also have their CVs improved simply bcos they coached SE too….lolz
I pray for sense for many people this 2020, bcos hatred has blocked their reasoning.
We now have talents lolz…as if we didn’t have talents all those years when we couldn’t qualify for ordinary AFCON in 3 out of 4 attempts. The likes of Enyeama, Uche brothers, Taye Taiwo, Yobo, Ogbuke, Nsofor, Osaze, Odiah, V.Moses, Etebo, Mikel, J.Obi etc were not talents….LMAO
My brother, you didn’t speak well sir. I agree that their are other good coaches out there but that Super Eagle have improved the CV of Rorh, I will ask how?
You can only give what you have. The man moved Nigeria from about 50 down to 30 or 31 and you call that a fluke?
Kindly withdraw your comments sir.
Compliments of the season Everyone!!!
This is a discuss I’ll title
**The poisoned chalice**
Since the days of clemens westerhof till now every successful Ng SE coaches had been dragged down from grace and glory to the embers of disgrace and unceremonious exits (that’s if lucky) or total banishment to oblivion.
Here are roll call of those I seem to remember:
1 westerhof…Contract woes/ unceremonious exit 1994
2.Johannes bonfrere.unceremonious exit 1996/poisoned chalice 2001
3.Philip Trousier…unceremonious exit 1997
4. Amodu,Keshi,Erico…Auto destruct button 2002
5. Keshi…poisoned chalice/distractions/Unceremonious exit 2014
6. Sunday Oliseh…Distractions/poisoned chalice/unceremonious exit(the only Nigerian amongst the lot that sensed the poisoned chalice from afar and bailed for his integrity intact) kudos 2016
And genort roar. ..
The storm that will blow the glass house cabal is brewing up with flamboyance.
I guess its quite unreasonable to start wetting all corners over contract terms that has not been formally published. However, this is Nigeria.
Unlike many comments here, i think i have a mixed feeling about the terms. There are some terms in the contract that are right to the best of my knowledge. First, Rohr should live in Nigeria of course. This looks as simple as ABC. He needs to live here, interact and and become one of us. There are so many things that are attached to this if you can think about it. C’mon guys! Rohr can’t be working in Nigeria as super eagles coach and he lives outside the country. We can’t just say because our league is bad at the moments, so he doesn’t have to be here to see our games and see what we do. It’s just like trying to add more doses to the suicidal medicine. Moreover, isn’t it so shameful, how we always have to beg lads developed by other countries?
Second, well, even a graduate assistant that earns 120K in Nigeria pays tax, so why would someone earning about 20M not pay tax. However, i think the guy deserves a raise, coz he had done a tremendous job in his last few years in charge of our darling super eagles.
I also think the issue on NFF technical committee overseeing Rohr’s list is annoying, and i guess the general public deserves an explaination from the NFF for this term.
Though, i understand we are being hunted by corruptions in the country and that has blurred our judgements in almost every angle, but there can definitely be two sides to every story depending on the way you look at it. We have all witnessed how our youth teams have flourished at the global tounaments while the characters fade away just by their conclusions. The likes of Oseni, chrisantus, etc. are talents we all knew and waited to become stars they never become (dont tell me age cheats please). The problem could boil down to managements or dubious acts from selfish agents. So, probably NFF intervention would allow those talents to be properly nurtured to attain a star their family and the nation would be proud of.
Some people are talking as if he is the highest paid coach in the world not even in Africa. Do you how much Egypt or even Cameroon are paying their foreign coach? and i don’t think those coaches are leaving in their country too but here in Nigeria everything is blown off because of hatred and sentiment. Every sensible person know that what the NFF are doing is a systematical way of sending the man away because they know he can never accept that term of that contract if it is true but the way we Nigerians have condemned it now don’t be surprise tomorrow if Pinnick appear on national dailies tomorrow and deny ever offer such kind of contract to Rohr. Whatever be the case we keep our finger crossed. Happy new in advance to all the true lovers of football
Message to ROHR:
pls mr. Rohr, behave like MORINHO(in 2008),,,,, quit diz job in january….. Save ur face and allow the NFF to shop for the person they can easily tune….. Atleast after the first WC qualifying match in 2020, (wich we will struggle to draw or loose wit ease), those haters will know u actually came to take us back to our glory days……
u brought descipline to de team,,, u did not tolorate any bigmanism from any player,,,, hunger and determination to win quickly came into SE DNA,,,, players were selected on merit,,, the greedy cabals were put to shame,,,, those greedy agent that force players on coach were left stranded,,,, the masses watch our dear SE play football without heart-ache and biting finger nails,,, we qualify without using SCIENTIFIC or CASIO CALCULATOR or waiting for diz Team to loose and the other team to win for SE to qualify,,,,, u did all diz yet blind and dump folks could not see…..
Dont worry, we de masses and de whole world have seen it…. And a book of remembrance is written…. U will 4ever be in our heart,,,,
incase u are sacked; Farewell in advance……
Can complete Sport do us a huge favour by publishing the opinion expressed here by soccer loving Nigerian? This will show those in Glass House that they don’t own super eagles, they are only privileged to be in there.
No one has been able to beat the record set by Roth to the best of my knowledge in the past 15years.
It is wicked of anyone to want to renew a contract of a performing coach and leave him on the same salary with other burdens.
I strongly believe that if soccer loving Nigeria will put their feets down, the clauses inserted can be removed with immediately effect.
I know there are other coaches that can take his place but the real deal is jelling with lads.
NFF, please leave Rorh alone with the former contract and we ask for is extention with 3000 dollars increment on his salary without tax.
It’s no surprise that the turbulence in the Glass House is happening at the period people yearn for change: New Year Eve. Motivation for superhuman actions for the upcoming year is at the peak; the desire to excel is unstoppable. But many do not know that the pleasure hormones which fuel these urges would soon tapper down…landing them in worse situations, mid-January.
NFF is free to bring in a yes-man. Just an analogy: We were smoking 71 cigarettes/day. A grandmother hired a life coach who set to work and the numbers are down to 31/day. Well, habits die hard. He’s still working. And we are buoyed to achieving more—through the slow method. But someone with fancy dreams is urging us to drive away this life coach and bring in another one who’d take us to 5 cigarette/day at once. Is this possible? Is this consistent with the history of success the world over? Where is the world-building, the false start and the learning that the previous coach had accumulated? Is this how people succeed, by being perpetual beginners?
It would be an awful disservice to Nigerians if Pinnick buckle in to the sinful intentions of those who want to wreck our progress. The NFF board, which has many ex-players like Jay Jay Okocha, should stand firm and do what the SuperEagles fans across the nation want: GIVE ROHR A FAIR CONTRACT LET TAKE USTO A HIGHER PLANE.
On ne change pas l’equip qui gagne!
This is quite interesting. Systematically, NFF already fired coach Rohr.
The terms and conditions won’t suits any coach in the whole world.
Is Mr. Rohr has a choice? It’s 50/50 chance.
No1, where is he going to go now to see multi talented players like Nigeria?
It’s not about money as far as Mr. Rohr is concerned. He wanted to achieved something bigger with the Nigerian team in his coaching career but the way it is now, NFF already done with the coach.
NFF are the master game planner in favour of their wishes. According to this news, they have already plotted down fall of Mr. Rohr. They did the same thing to late Keshi. What of my lovely coach, Mr. Dennerby?
No2, NFF knew that coach Rohr can never succeeded any where he goes in Africa or just anywhere except in Nigeria. If not, why did they decided to send him for a refresher course?
Did they intended to do that to favoured Nigeria? I don’t think so. They are liars.
Nigerians has too much players to choose from while others doesn’t.
If you are in doubt, the history of coach Rohr is there for us to read.
He had never been successful in other African Countries he has coached before Nigeria.
The reason why NFF wanted to send coach Rohr parking was simply because the man has told Nigerians in public that NFF haven’t been paid his salary.
NFF lied and debunked the news. Like I have said before now, sacking Mr. Rohr is not the main issue but putting the right people in that NFF is the main problem.
Even, if Amunike comes on board or any coach, they are still going to fail.
Why, NFF will never treated any Nigerian coach like a foreign coach.
Oga Rohr should thank his God for this opportunity. He should leave now. He has tried his best.
For me, Amunike is the best for this position but NFF will not allowing the man to do his job. If they can give him the chance they have been given to oga over the past three now, Amunike will surpassed coach Rohr.
But can they? This people are not capable of moving Nigerian sports forward. They only cares for their pockets. For example, under17 team. That tells Nigerians that our system is not working. There’s Corruption everywhere.
However, during Westerhof and Jo, they spent most of their time in Nigeria. Searching players both home and abroad. This is why I said NFF have no vision. They just realized that now the coach have to stay in the Country?
From now on, NFF should have known that giving the opportunity to Nigerian coach to manage the Super Eagles or any other teams with the proper welfare of the coaches, Nigerian coaches will achieve more than the foreign coaches.
The only solution to our sports is this, Our ex players most taking over from these oppressors. Amaju and co should vacate their offices.
With the current NFF, I have no hope. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
You guys are all scripting your comments like as if you are not Nigerians, where lies your patriotism, does it mean you are all ready to rubbish the interest and image of our beloved country to support a white man blindly?. We already had a Nigerian coach who not only won the Nation’s cup but took us to World cup and got to the second round, there was another that won silver at the Nation’s cup and a third that won Bronge twice and also qualified us for World cup twice but was denied the opportunity to sit on the bench at the World because of the powers that be who didn’t let him. So i don’t see what Rohr has done that has turned him into a messiah . Besides, Who knew him before coming to Nigeria , what was his record in Africa , if he is so good why didn’t he qualify Niger and Gabon for world cup or make them surprise The World by qualifying them for Afcon and also take them to knock out stages. This is an unknown quantity that secured the Nigerian team coaching position through the back door and now using our team to boost his CV and yet y’all rubbish our country’s image online for the Whole World to read. Tell me any serious country that will hire a foreign coach and allow him to operate from oversea, Arab countries are that most difficult places for White people to live and work because of —- we all know, yet every coach hired by Saudi Arabia, Iran , Qatar etc live and work in these countries, He cannot continue to be an absentee coach while receiving thousands of dollars he does not pay tax on, that is shocking, no country in the Western World will pay you a dime without taxing you, they will make you pay tax to Federal government, state, local government, city, and school district, it is only in the US you find some tax free states but they will collect it through other means. Now let’s talk about the List, i know that is a two edged sword, the technical department can vet and have an input not given the powers to approve otherwise they will abuse it. Rohr himself does not help matters, why go to the Nation’s cup with onyekuru, kalu, Ahmend musa and Moses simon when they all play the same position? the Technical department would have corrected it, that team was unbalanced and it showed when Shehu got injured before the first match. We had a problem with the #9 position going to the World cup rather than let other players fight for shirt he contracted it to his Nigerian friend who brought in a striker from Italy at the last minute and the guy made the World cup and since after the World cup he has not made our team, then what qualified him to make the World cup list? It was the same with Onuachu going to Nations cup, We could have allowed Fanendo Adi and others to fight for a shirt going to the World cup, especially when it was obvious that Ighalo was not inform . Samuel Kalu and Bonaventure were in Belgium when he only concentrated on Moses Simon even when he got injured he still shunned them, He also spent too much time trying to convince some German/Nigerians to play for us to the detriment of other players born elsewhere in Europe and at the end he could not convert anyone which goes in a long way to show that he has no clout in that country. Let us all fight for the interest of Nigeria and not any white man , I don’t really care if he stays or goes, what we should be fighting Football administrators for is grassroot development of our football, they should take football back to schools and bring back the academicals and Principal’s Cup then create something new at higher institution’s level.
Toxic garbage.
Though, seems you largely underscore the achievements of Mr. Rohr but no doubts your points are valid and well argued.
Thank you bro. Well spoken but I’m not included. You could have said, some of us or most of us Nigerians not other way round like this
“You guys are all scripting your comments like as if you are not Nigerians, where lies your patriotism, does it mean you are all ready to rubbish the interest and image of our beloved country to support a white man blindly”?
However, We are on the same page. Some of us doesn’t care about our image. All they wanted to see is Oyinbo coach but failed to understand that colour doesn’t play football.
Mr. Rohr had two opportunities and he wasted both. World cup in Russia and AFCON in Egypt.
With this conditions, it is the best for him to leave. But if he stays, he’s going to fail very badly.
God bless Nigeria!!!
Omo9ja you are right, i ought to have said some of you, am sorry about that. Happy New Year And God Bless Nigeria
It’s only the blind that will not see any sense in your write up. I wonder how people are making excuses for a coach not to be taxed. So the rest of us that pay tax are fools
i cant love rohr more than my super eagle.
_with rohr we cant achieve anything in the next 15years to come, despite the arrays of stars at his disposal
_ surpport collectively not individual.
_what is bad about stagnating his pay? what is bad about him staying nigeria? or is nigeria not a place to leave?
_after he is an average coach. who has a lossing mentality. inflicts fear on his player. and cant analyze and aim for the weakness of opponent. for like what algeria coach did to us.
_abeg president pinnick carry on. we the good citizen that love super eagle back you. notin dey hapun presido.
Good talk bro but Amaju and co also must go with the coach. Imagine, the coach didn’t see Osigwe and Okoye as good goalkeepers but he decided to call Akpeyi back.
Mr. President and co gave Aloy Agu a role that he doesn’t deserved.
We have Peter Rufai and Ike shorunmu but they went for Agu. So, the current NFF are not capable to make Nigeria proud. They are dictators. They should vacate their offices together. God bless Nigeria!!!
There is nothing wrong in asking him to pay tax.
Where i luve and wirk abroad, i pay tax too.
The lack of diplomacy in the renewed contract is keeping the oay stagnant. That is a review without a raise.
That is only done when your employer thinks you gave done a bad job in the period under review.
They should have given Rohr a $300/month raise and taxed him 10% of his monthly salary.
Above all, thet should have sent Sanusi to the under 20 team, brought in Amuneke to the SE to assisit Rohr abd be ready to take over should Rohr quit or leave after the 2022 world cup.

I bet you all Rohr will not go anywhere!
$55000 tax free a month, not even a cardiologist make that in USA.
How many African nations can pay a coach $55000 / month?
We should if we must spend that on a coach, pay that to a Nigerian who can produce similar results.
Emmanuel Amuneke, Mike Emenalo etc
Mikel Obi could and should consider going to work under Morinho just like Kolo Ture is working under Brenda Rogers.
@CJ,
I respect your views, but there is no basis for salary comparison between a soccer coach and a cardiologist, forget that these professions start with ‘C’. Can you compare the remuneration of an architect who designed and supervised the construction of the boxing ring AJ fought with the amount the boxer collected for a 30 minute job? And you don’t even have to win to cart away millions of dollars.
Some cardiologists who earn double the amount Rohr is earning. Even in Africa! Doctors fly private planes from Cape Town to see patients in other African countries and collect loads of money.
Let’s not muddle the issue with twisted logic. The Nigerian situation is unique. We’ve had a poor run with building the national team. Here’s someone who has brought is discipline, dedication, and objectivity in player selection. Let’s renew his contract so he can continue to build the team. He has not won us WC, but he has taken us to respectable rung on the world ranking. It’s even easier for our boys to join respectable clubs in Europe. And our faces go ga…ga with jealousy and derailed logic? I’m disappointed with this kind of reasoning from a world citizen.
@Achi….are you minding these Ariaria market mentality folks…Comparing apples to palm kernels…? LMAO
On what basis are they comparing Rohr’s pay to that of a cardiologist…lolz…??? Are they trying to force themselves to believe he is overpaid…??
Their hatred for Rohr can’t let them think straight and understand that globally sportsmen earn way higher than other professionals. Footballers nowadays earn as high as £500k a week, boxers earn millions in a matter of minutes, athletes win millions just by racing within a matter of seconds….so on what basis are they trying to twist logic…???
Rohr isn’t even in the top 5 highest earners in Africa. And even goes months without receiving his pay. Yet he is doing marvelously better than those earning higher than him. Now rather than get a raise, he’s being given a paycut by shifting incidence of taxation to him as if he is a civil servant…LMAO. I don’t know anywhere in the world an employee gets a paycut as a reward for doing well.
Honestly, our FA is bunch of comedians. So much unprofessionalism oozing out of that glass house.

Nigerians should just brace up for the calamity this NFF and their so-called technical department of ignoramuses are about to bring to the Super Eagles.
Dennerby cited interference as one of the reasons he walked away….so let’s fasten our seatbelts….The era of questionable invitations will surely come back….the era of senior players being banned from the team for demanding their rights will be back….the era of the coach just being a figurehead will be back….the era of looking into the rulebooks to check if we have qualified or not is back (as it happened after falcons played 1-1 with CIV in Lagos after play goaless in Abidjan….even a madman strolling on the streets knows what is called away goal rule in football….our technical department and their stooge of a local coach and ragtag group of yes players didn’t…LMAO)….the days of calculating points, scores and yellow cards to see if we have qualified will be back…..the era of heartattack superchikens brand of football will be back
Nigerians should just get prepared for the worst. Expectations is the mother of disappointment. Lolz….2020 is indeed pregnant for Nigerian football.

What is happening to Nigeria? Why is some people enemies of progress. For the first time in many years, super eagle is looking like fearsome team to all the countries in Africa. A team that will hold is own against best teams in the world. Our best players no longer played for countries like Ukraine, Turkey, and other minor leagues in Europe. Just in 3yrs of Rohr appointment alone, we have a troost ekong who used to play in a club in Norway, now plays for udinese in Italy, omeruo from Turkey to Spanish la liga, and list goes on. Last couples of season alone we saw an exodus of nigeria players moved from Belgium to France. And from all indications, our players will sooner than later be playing in big teams, simple because of the success and the progress made by eagles. I love SE very much that whenever we lose, it thus affect my mood and I want us to be the best in the world but to think those so called the nfa that should love SE also, never appreciated what this man has been able to do for us. Hence, offering him ridiculous and unacceptable contract extension. If not, how can you tell a coach that his team list must go through the technical department. Is that not a way to sabotage his effort? The under17, 20 and 23 team list that the technical department approved this year alone, we knew what happened to all the aforementioned teams. Even though, i agree that he should be taxed but atleast increase his pay to compesate for the deduction in his salary. If we want him to stay in Nigeria, let the league management board go fix the league first.Either of these two things is about to happen to Nigeria in the coming years. If we do the needful, we will continue on a progressive path which is qualifying for NC and WC and surpassing our previous outings or join the backwagon of the woeful performances of our under age teams we experienced in 2019. What I will simple say is “Nigerian is the enemy of Nigeria”.
@dr drey your prayers against nigeria football will not work. the eagles will fly without rorh.
