The Super Eagles will be approaching the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations with a big smile on their faces after the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed that they have paid the bonus of Nigeria’s squad to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Recall that the Super Eagles finished the tournament as the third-best team after beating Tunisia 1-0 in the Third-Place match. After the encounter, the NFF could not pay the bonus of the players.
BBC’s Oluwashina Okeleji confirmed this announcement via his official twitter handle, where he noted that the NFF has finally paid the players that went to 2019 Afcon their bonus, although it’s not clear if Rohr and Agu have also received their salaries.
The announcement will certainly charge the player’s morale, most especially ahead of the World Cup qualifiers. The Three-time AFCON champions also recently qualified for the 2022 AFCON tournament in Cameroon after topping Group L unbeaten in a group that consists of Benin, Sierra Leone, and Lesotho.

And this is meant to be a news abi? Latter we will start castigating dual nationals for not playing for Nigeria.
God go punish dem…. And we expect our boiz to do well abi??? Awon olofo!!
Thank God for his mercy. Finally, NFF have paid Super Eagles players. Africa, it is well. Since 2019 and we are in 2021, two years after their services ba?
I hope NFF have been working without bn paid since that 2019 till today?
Nonetheless, looking at this picture still baffled me and I’m wondering why the squad were under performing in that tournament.
Excuse upon excuse from the gaffer and his fans but we never lacks fantastic players never.
Now that we are heading to another tournament in Cameroon, is there any hope of winning the Afcon trophy?
I think Eagles should be fully matured enough to go for the gold this time around not Silver or Bronze medals in Cameroon.
A five years old team should be solid, fearless and well compact.
From now on, we should be watching our Super Eagles playing fantastic game.
Good job to Oga Rohr and his troops for not bn paid their bonuses over the two years. It is not easy to be honest.
NFF still have a long way to go. I won’t say beyond that. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
Hmmmmmmm. Bonus of 2019 being paid in 2021. I’m sure, the bonus of 2020 and 2021 have not been paid. Probably, the players will get them in 2023. This is very bad and very discouraging to the players. If NFF cannot pay our players as and when due, they should just forget about Super Eagles and focus on other sports like cricket etc. If SE must continue, NFF must have to look for ways to source for funds and pay these lads, as and when due . A labourer actually deserves his wages.
If NFF is creditable enough, I’m sure that a lot of corporate bodies and even individuals would have loved to support them. But due to rumours of corruption and mismanagement of funds, nobody wants to bring out his funds, before it will be looted……instead of being utilised to run SE.
Generally, NFF is not doing well. Even the last two SE matches were not televised. For people who still managed to watch it, it was of a very poor quality. With all these happening with the NFF, one no longer have the full confidence and standing to ask these foreign born players to come and play for us. And if by any chance, these foreign born dudes hear what is obtainable in SE in regards to NFF handling, their resolve not to play for Nigeria will burgeon. For instance, it is very likely that Tosin have been told about the failings of NFF and that could be the reason why he is no longer as keen on representing Nigeria as he was initially.
However, in spite of all the bad of NFF, good news is about to come our way. From all indications, Eze will be teaming up with SE
Oga i’m sorry for coming in.
U made a very good point but u decided to end in an unpalatable way…
When will you drop this issue of this average, over-hyped & small-game player called EZE?
We all know the race is not for the swift neither the battle for the mighty, but time and chance is the key factor….
Give our stand-by list players (DENNIS & OLAYINKA) this opportunity and see wonders…
Yes; Dennis did it against a big team like MADRID same as OLAYINKA…
They both have big heart…. Hence big game player….
Watch EZE against big team and you’ll hate media even asking Rohr to approach him.
There’s nothing special about this guy….
He’s only good against small teams.
We should be crying for an 18 year old SAKA that walk straight into England team not a bench warmer of England U21 that is not even considered good enough to be among the “THREE LION” 40 men squard.
Pls @Ocherome Mma; help us & save our faces… We’re tired of this EZE hype… So shameful.
::SHALOM::
I have never watched him play…….. I don’t even know him apart from media hype, reported interest by Pinnick and Rohr. For Rohr in particular to have interest in the boy, that means he has some potentials. It then becomes very expedient that we secure him, even if we don’t use him today………. we may use him tomorrow
Na today una day break. Are we to say weldone now or congratulations…? If not for COVID-19, the 2021 AFCON would have been in 5-6 weeks time. So basically NFF is paying the emoluments of participating in one AFCON on the eve of the next…..LMAO…orisirisi.
So NFF biko when will 2020 and 2021 bonuses be paid…..oh….apologies for the question….the year 2022 seems more like the answer. It has never been this bad.
And some pathetic lairs will come here to tell us Rohr has never been owed a kobo for 1 day…..yen yen yen yen yen….he is only doing well bcos he is getting better treatment than the incompetent overated failures who preceded him. Akuko….! Even players are owed bonuses for 2 years now…if players are owed for 2years only God knows when last the coach was payed his entitlements……yet its within that period we have qualified for a tournament for the 1st time in our history with 2 games to spare…..and then their next wailing point became, “we had a weak group” LMAOOOooo. Na Brazil, France and Germany bin dey our groups wen we nor fit go afcon in 3 out of 4 attempts….LMAO
So the NFF wants to be congratulated for paying players their contractually- agreed benefits?
Nonsense and ingredients.
After, they will ask Rohr and the boys to go and win Afcon and world cup.
