Newcastle United are leading the race to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli during this summer’s transfer window.
Osimhen arrived Napoli from Ligue 1 club Lille in September 2020 and has been one of the key performers for the Partenopei since then.
The Nigeria international has scored 21 goals and provided seven assists in 51 appearances across all competitions for Luciano Spalletti’s side.
The 23-year-old has been linked with a number of clubs even though he has a contract in Naples until June 2025.

However, according to Italian radio presenter Luca Cerchione, there are currently three clubs in the race, with Newcastle battling Manchester United and Real Madrid.
Cerchione claims that Newcastle are at the head of the queue, but the Magpies would have to avoid relegation from the Premier League in order to stand a chance of signing him in the upcoming market.
The forward has been in strong form during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring 11 times and registering four assists in 21 appearances in all competitions.
Following their lucrative takeover, Eddie Howe’s side are expected to be busy this summer, but the club are still locked in a fierce battle against relegation to the Championship.

England n especially Newcastle not for you. The politics in their football will ruin you. So be careful. If ever England, maybe just maybe Arsenal. But Barca or Madrid or psg best for you.
Napoli’s style of play does not suit Osimhen’s football. They play an intricate and sometimes senseless passing game that keeps the striker waiting until he’s well-marked and then fouled
Well said Brodaman. Newcastle or any other Premier league club will play to Osimhen’s strength. Their wingers and midfielders don’t hug the ball like insingne and Co. The pace of the English game will suit Osigoal.
Newcastle will kill his talent because he will have to also drive their attack, that means leaving his no.9 position to fight for the ball in midfield.
A better suitor for Osigoal is Real Madrid or Chelsea. You are guaranteed to play in major European tournaments. Plus they can tweak their style of play to suit their strikers. PSG will be too difficult for him. Mbappe, Neymar or Messi will be too difficult for him to challenge.
Let him go if the pay and game time is right. After all none of you commenting here are gonna pay his bills or sit on the bench with him if psg, barca, madrid, Arsenal decides to play lacazet, benzema, aubamayang, mbape ahead of him all for a megre sum…
