Newcastle United made Premier League history after thrashing Sheffield United 8-0 at Bramall Lane on Sunday.
The Magpies returned to league with a dominant display against the newly promoted side, after holding AC Milan to a goalless draw in the UEFA Champions League last week.
Sean Longstaff, Dan Burn, Sven Botman, Callum Wilson, Anthony Gordon, Miguel Almiron, Bruno Guimarães and Alexander Isak were the eight different scorers to Newcastle.
According to ESPN FC, Newcastle United are now the first team in Premier League history to have eight different players score in a single game
Also, according to OptaJoe, this was Sheffield United’s largest ever defeat in their league history in their 4,988th game.
Also, it is the first time that Sheffield have conceded eight goals in a league game since their 3-10 defeat to Middlesbrough in November 1933.
Eddie Howe’s men will host champions Manchester City on Wednesday at St. James’ Park.

How come all very very cheap so called Dutch legends have suddenly gone quiet despite Ajax becoming some easy virtues giver to every dick n Harry? Maybe n just maybe since there is no more Bassey the sacrificial lamb. Silly so called legends that think overwhelmingly too high of themselves and cheap clubside Ajax living on past glories.
Don’t mind them @Glory. All these people living on past glory who are just looking for scapegoat. Bassey could have performed better to be honest but they didn’t give him a chance.
Heaven bless Bassey and all deserving Super Eagles players. Heaven bless Glory and all deserving Super Eagles pundits.
Brodaman Abo. No mind them. They were calculating every single move right from his door step, to football training, to market place, to his girl friends house, to every call he made, to every up n down movement on top of his girl lolzz trying to equate all to money they paid on him. Man dem stingy, cheap araldite palms that sure require divine miracle to let open. Lolzz. God bless to you my brodaman Ago.
@Ajax, they have already started feeling like they paid too much for Chuba Akpom. Just meagre €12.5million some are thinking already that Ajax paid too much.
Lol zzz. Yeah I read same somewhere. Those stakeholders at Ajax need brain reset. They have this over-estimation of how good THEY are. BIG BIG DREAMERS LOLZZZ.
@Glory, Ajax want to stick to a period where they could assemble world class players, pay them peanuts and achieve continental success. When they have to pay good money for players nowadays, they subject those unfortunate players to unfair scrutiny.
Ajax, spend good money on quality players, give them chance to breath then maybe you will be successful again.
Yeye people.
Heaven bless Glory and Jimmyball and all deserving Super Eagles pundits.
Funny enough was having this discussion with my cousin when Ajax game was abandoned yesterday, was asking who they going to scapegoat this season. At least Bassey was the reason they didn’t perform well last season, so whats the excuse this year. Where are all those ex players ranting every week about bassey. what a shame.
