Nigeria winger Alex Iwobi hopes to score more goals for Everton with his head after recent feat against Lincoln City and Wolverhampton Wanderers, reports Completesports.com.
Iwobi wasn’t exactly known for his aerial prowess while at Arsenal, netting only one headed goal in 149 games for the Gunners, but he’s already doubled that tally for Everton.
His first ever goal for the Toffees in the Carabao Cup 4-2 win against Lincoln City came via a header and he repeated the feat with a fine thumping header in their 3-2 Premier League win against Wolves at the Goodison Park just before the international break.
“To score against Lincoln and score against Wolves with my head, which is a bit different, it is a great feeling and hopefully there is more to come,” Iwobi told Soccer Saturday.
“I only officially had one header for Arsenal, so two in a week is not bad. Beforehand, we had a few drills with crossing and finishing and my heading wasn’t the greatest – I had a few that were going wild. So for me to score two, they were all laughing at me saying ‘wow’. But as long as it goes in, it doesn’t matter, that’s what I told them.
“Wherever I go, I’ll always do my best for the club and Everton are the club I’m representing. I feel at home and I’ll always want to show them that I feel like an Evertonian now.”
Everton will face home team AFC Bournemouth in their next Premier League match tomorrow (Sunday) at the Vitality Stadium.
