Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has shed more light on the brilliant goal he scored against Southampton in the Championship at the weekend.
Recall that the Nigerian midfield maestro showcased his dazzling dribbling skills and a clinical scoring instinct during the first half’s added time.
Expertly receiving a pass from Stephy Mavididi, Ndidi confidently danced past a defender before unleashing a thunderous strike that found the back of the net.
It was a moment of sheer brilliance that added to Leicester City’s lead, which had already been established with goals from the prolific Jamie Vardy and Kasey McAteer.

However, in a chat with Club’s official website, Ndidi stated that his goal was a complete striker’s instinct.
“The body shape, you know, when Stephy had the ball, my body shape facing the goal was brilliant! Was a striker’s instinct in it,” Ndidi told the club’s official website.
“So my body shape, I got the ball with my left foot and tried to shoot, faked it and you know what it is.”
The Nigeria international has scored three goals in all competitions for Leicester City this season.
Personal life
Ndidi grew up in the barracks as his father was a serving Army officer before his retirement. Discipline and education were the priority there, while football was a passion his father frowned upon. “Any time my dad went to work I would go and play,” Ndidi said in an interview with BBC World Service.
In May 2019, Ndidi married his longtime girlfriend Dinma Fortune in Abuja.
In 2019, Ndidi started studying for a degree in Business and Management at De Montfort University.
