Former Super Eagles captain Sunday Oliseh has described Leicester City and Nigerian star Wilfred Ndidi as the best defensive midfielder in the Premier League Completesports.com reports.
Oliseh stated this following Ndidi’s return to action for Leicester on Wednesday against West Ham United, after recovering from knee injury.
Ndidi replaced Nampalys Mendy who got injured and came off in the 34th minute.
Commenting on Ndidi, Oliseh hailed his timely return which saw Leicester end a run of three staight games without a win.
“Wilfred “Superman” Ndidi is back in midfield & Leicester go back to winning ways in style, 4-1 ! Extremely happy for the young man. Personally feel he is the best defensive midfielder in the Premier league, so far this season.”
The game against West Ham was Ndidi’s 21st Premier League appearance for Leicester this season.
His Nigerian teammate Kelechi Iheanacho was also in action for Leicester and was impressive.
He provided the assist for Leicester’s fourth goal and was fouled inside the box which won his side a penalty.
Leicester remain in third position on 48 points in the league table And on cause for a top-four finish.
