“It’s been good, it’s the other side of my game,” Ndidi told told BBC Radio Leicester’s When You’re Smiling Podcast.
“As a child growing up I’ve always been a central defender and then turning into a number six and now enjoying the number eight position.
“It’s just the way I am, having an open mind to play any position I can possibly play on the pitch. Just trying to enjoy football, be myself and enjoy football.”
Ndidi was in action in Leicester City’s 1-0 win against Bristol City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
His international teammate Kelechi Iheanacho was also in action in the game.
Jamie Vardy scored the decisive in the 67th minute.
Maresca’s side are fighting for immediate promotion back to the Premier League following their relegation last season.
