Napoli have removed Victor Osimhen from their Serie A squad list and also handed his squad number (nine) to new signing Romelu Lukaku.
The Nigeria was unable to secure a move away from the Serie A club on transfer deadline day despite strong efforts by Chelsea and Al-Ahli to secure his services.
Osimhen has two years remaining on his contract.

Saudi club Al-Ahli offered the striker a mouth-watering offer reportedly worth €40m per season.
The move fell through when Napoli asked for more on the transfer fee. Al-Ahli eventually decided to sign England international Ivan Toney from Brentford instead.
Chelsea on the other hand were unable to match his personal demands.

Who were Osimhen’s advisers? So Mikel, Victor Moses, Ighalo could not sit this man down and advise him to lower his wage demands and take the Chelsea offer?
Kel. I wonder o. Well, I sensed conspiracy on the part of Napoli to frustrate him. They have achieved that to a large extent.
This should be a lifelong lessons for Oshimen. If I were him, he should look inward to see what must have gone wrong.
But I am confused. What’s now going to be his fate now. Is he going to remain inactive?
Lower his wage demand for what…?!
Are you ready to pay the deficit…?!
The biggest loser in all these is Napoli. They must continue to bear the burden of paying osimhen his 250k per week wage till they allow their vengeful brains to reset to default settings.
De Laurentis must be having high BP at the moment…LMAOoo. The worst his greedy ass can do is to freeze his top scorer for 3 straight seasons out of the team…..but he must still continue to fork out 250k every week into osimhen’s pockets.
Teams were begging him with 100m earlier in the window yet he insisted on 130m….out of desperation when the window was almost closing he began scrambling for 75m….LMAOoo….afte negotiations had been concluded, the greedy buffoon asked for extra 5m….LMAOoo.
The boy agreed terms with 2 clubs, greedy old man refused to let him go.
Very ungrateful old pig. Looking at how he treated Khalidou Koulibaly, Marek Hamsik and Luciano Spalleti who won him a title after 33 years….I am not suprised he is treating Osimhen the same way.
Football is business…..osimhen should use this period to take a well deserved rest till January while keeping himself fit and earning 6 digits for doing nothing.
De Laurentis should request for 130m again when the January window opens again….LMAOoo
Everybody keeps blaming osihmen but have forgotten how greedy Napoli boss have been to players and coaches in the past..
Osihmen wanted psg yet this old man refused, he wanted osihmen to go to Chelsea or Saudi Arabia so he can punish him..
Nigerians and Africans should support and cheer osihmen.. he plays with his heart and a passionate player..
Let him use to this period to start up a project in Nigeria or get busy with something else aside football that he loves.. in no distant time, the next window will be open and he will get a new club..
Let lukaku win him seria A.. ungrateful soul
Na so so sense fill ya head.

Simple! I see ppl online blaming Osimhen, asking him to lower his wage. Put urself in his shoes, would any of us agree to move to a country with high taxes and take a lower salary? I think somehow Napoli promised Chelsea they’ll get Osimhen that’s why the messed up his Saudi deal. The $5M was just an excuse. And Osimhen did the right thing by not agreeing to move to Chelsea. Let him rest while Napoli continues to pay him
You are so spot on . Why should Osimhen reduce his pay, Osi did every thing humanly possible to leave in good terms with his club. Napoli can go to blazes. If I were Osi, continue to train hard and develop the mental capacity to excel.
@Dr Drey @Oloo and @Onwajunior, let’s look at both sides of the coin.
Scenario 1: (Could have been) He took the pay cut at Chelsea, stays active and relevant and raises his stock with eye catching performances. He justifies the $130m tag price and most importantly, avoids rustiness and a dip in form. This was exactly what his replacement, Lukaku did when leaving Chelsea to go on loan to Roma, then Inter, and finally a transfer to Napoli.
Scenario 2: (The reality) He rejects all the offer on the table and gets trap in the greedy and backfiring game plan of De Laurentis. He continues to earn handsomely but loses out in terms of form, spotlight, and market value. Which serious professional stays inactive for 6 months without the risk of becoming rusty and losing the AFPOTY crown.
I doubt Osimhen listens to advice from his seniors and legends in the game.I doubt any new foreign coach for the SE will retain a clubless player as his number 9. Will likely look for new candidates.
Still, I wish him well. Good luck to him. Hopefully the situation doesn’t negatively impact his career and stock before January.
Why should he lower his wage demands????…..This is one of the top ten in the world is it cuz he is African? De Laurentis is just one of the greediest in world football…. He should’ve taken the 100 million offered earlier in the transfer window. Dr drey analyzed it perfectly…. buddy could sit and just earn good money and guess who is losing lol
My curiosity is that if Osimhen is a Brazilian, Argentine or British, would Chelsea have offered him such ridiculous contract? Infact anybody that says Osimhen should accept the offer to proof himself in EPL has lost their senses. What does he need to proof? After 4 back to back successful season in European top leagues?
Everyone is just dancing to noise from the market.about oshimen.pastor , prophet, Saudi, BBC, u tuber agent , anyway na only god get power,
God bless OSIMHEM, God bless everyone supporting Nigerians home and abroad. God punish and disgrace anyone who is supporting the downfall of Nigeria and her citizens.
If Nigeria was a home,a country to reckon with none of these nonsense called conspiracy theories would have occured in the first place.
President na zombie, NFF na dead wood, sport ministry na vagabonds.
God will expose you all.
You media can lie sha!!! How come Lukaku is on no. 11 shirt today?

@ Unique because Osimhen is not a Brazilian or an European he should have remembered the son of whom he is. This guy has anger problem. I pray his career will not nose dive. Honestly speaking am devastated by the way he has been treated so far the current African Player of the year is clueless and clubless .
Let him go back and retrace his steps and beg the people he has offended . I remember vividly last year when he ordered DSS to arrest his sister’s husband about an issue with money, also look at the way he lambasted Finidi. I believed all these small things played a part in clubs being careful to sign him . I pray God has mercy on him .
No Nigerian should play for Napoli ever again
