Napoli manager, Luciano Spalletti has reflected on his side’s home defeat to Lazio on Friday.
The Partenopei lost at home for the first time in Serie A this season going down 1-0 to Maurizio Sarri’s men.
“I could see how disappointed the lads were in the dressing room, which means they gave everything without ever giving up,” Spalletti told the club’s official website.

“We didn’t show our usual quality. We should’ve shown more in order to create more danger for their defence. That did mostly happen in the second half, but in the first half our passing was a bit sloppy.
“We weren’t that patient. We forced the play out wide when we needed to push down the middle to allow the midfielders to get forward as that was the crucial way to put their rearguard to the test.
“I expected Lazio to play like that. I knew that’s how they would approach it. We needed to be more precise, but in terms of our mentality, the lads gave everything that they had.
“There’s no slowing down or presumptions by anyone. We’ll now continue where we left off in terms of working hard and looking ahead. I said we wouldn’t take our foot off the gas and that’s how it’ll be in every game ahead of us.”
