The SFFL Showtime League will kick-off on September 24, with loads of exciting flag football on offer.
An All Stars game between Showtime and Outlaws will serve as the curtain raiser for the new season.
The new season which is Tagged Season X will kick-off with a game between the Dragons and Panthers.
Holders the Outlaws will battle the Lagos Mavericks, while last season’s losing finalists, Titans will take on newcomer Lagos Athletic Flag Football.
The season will have nine rounds of games with all 10 teams playing each other non-stop every week in a league format.
After the regular season, there will be a playoffs which will commence on November 26 and will feature the top six teams, who will compete to become the last two teams standing for the Showtime Bowl.
The Showtime Bowl of Season X is slated for December 10.
All the matches will be e played at the Meadow Hall School pitch, Lekki.
According ro SFFL commissioner, Adejumo Adebare, the aim of the league is to create more awareness for the sport and ensure American football grow in Nigeria.
“It’s a coed recreational and amateur league that brings everyone from all spheres of life together,” Adebare said.
“We want to make the sports develop in the country and encourage youngsters to get involved in Flag Football.”
Jimmy Akinsola, who owns Lagos Athletics Flag, stated that the Season X promises to deliver incredible touchdowns, unforgettable plays, and the magic that happens when players embrace the spirit of Flag Football.
He also called on sponsors to partner with the SFFL.
The winner will cart home N8m and a giant trophy.
Launched in July 2023, SFFL Showtime, a Coed Flag Football League is opened to professionals and passionate newcomers across all development levels.
