Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has said his memorable football moment was when Chelsea won the 2012 UEFA Champions League.
Parading legends like Petr Cech, Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard, David Luiz, Juan Mata and John Obi Mikel, Chelsea clinched their first Champions League title, defeating Bayern Munich on penalties at the Allianz Arena, joke ground of the Bundesliga giants.
Bayern looked set to be crowned European champions after Thomas Muller gave them the lead with less than 10 minutes left.
But Drogba equalised from a corner late in the game and went on to score the winning spot kick.
When asked by host of popular football channel, Football Fans Tribe, about his memorable football moment which is not connected to him, Ndidi said: “I would say my best football moment as a child growing up, was when Chelsea won the 2012 UEFA Champions League.
“I was crying because I was a big fan of Mikel Obi growing up.”
Chelsea have since won a second Champions League title, which came in 2021 under German coach Thomas Tuchel.
The Blues became European champions after a 1-0 win against favourite Manchester City, thanks to Kai Havertz first half goal.
