France captain Kylian Mbappe has described his Euro 2024 campaign as a failure.
Mbappe and his Les Blues teammates crashed out of this year’s European Championship after losing 2-1 to Spain.
France took a ninth minute lead through Randal Kolo Muani who nodded home Mbappe’s cross.
But goals from Lamine Yamal and Dani Olmo in the 21st and 25th minutes secured a 2-1 win for Spain.
Mbappe only managed a goal throughout his participation in the tournament.
Following France’s ouster, the former Parsi Saint-Germain star admitted his performance was poor.
“In football you’re good or not good. I wasn’t good. My Euro was a failure,” he was quoted on Fabrizio Romano’s X handle.
“I wanted to be European champion… I will now go on holiday, I will rest well, it will do me a lot of good, then I will get ready to start a new life. There’s a lot to do.”
At the 2020 European Championship Mbappe and France got to the round of 16 and lost on penalties to Switzerland.
Mbappe missed the crucial penalty that led to France exiting the tournament.

Spain looking good for the trophy. However, England or Holland are quite capable of upsetting the Spanish apple cart.
