Musa Still Super Eagles Captain — Troost-Ekong

William Troost-Ekong has said that Ahmed Musa is still the Super Eagles captain, reports Completesports.com.

The 31-year-old has not been called up by the three-time African champions since the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

Musa linked up with four-time Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Kano Pillars for a third stint last week.

The forward netted twice in Kano Pillars’ 2-0 victory over Sunshine Stars last weekend.

Musa recently said he has not retired from international football.

Troost-Ekong confirmed that the former Leicester City player is still the team’s leader.

“We’re happy he’s back,” Troost-Ekong told reporters at the Super Eagles hotel in Ikot Ekpene.

“He’s still our captain and he’s welcome back any time.

“He’s our most capped player, a good role model, he’s a good leader.

“I am happy to deputise for him.”

  • That us absolute Rubbish and Players and Fans are not supposed to be putting such a bad Presedence on the team. We have Way more Capable players than Musa world wide if we had more then we definitely have more now. and players are improving and evolving i.e. Ejuke if we must look at an ex winger then surely only Moses Victor Moses, I mean he is even at Luton Town, I am sure he is even more capable now than the likes of Chukwueze is NOw..This is the kind of debates a serious team should be having I mean you have a player like Victor Moses the MVP of our last AFCON glory still capable playing in Championship someone who the current wingers can learn alot from even Lookman and it is Musa we are talking about, So this Musa talk is so disturbing and is really a solid depiction of the state of our football and the mentality causing this rubbish.

    Hahahahaha….Ekong stop talking rubbish.

Ndidi is the captain of the SE….LMAOoo.

You only deputized for him at AFCON because he intentionally withdrew from AFCON to protest the injustice of Musa’s continued presence in the squad. I don’t know why you have not handed the armband back to Ndidi ever since….LMAOoo

Whatever it is that some people smoke b4 logging on to CSN must be of premium quality…..LMAOoo

Are you both not the same age. Is it because your envelope is bigger than his that’s why he is being ignored.

  • pompei 4 mins ago

But Musa is in top form now ooo.
His performance for Kano Pillars has some fans clamoring for his return to the SE.
Some compared his exploits to CR7. He is still fast, and deadly around the 18 yard box. Plus he has loads of experience.
Fear of Ugo Iwunze should not stop us from giving Musa another try. Hahahaha, I don run commot ooo, make dem no kpai me for here!
