Luis Muriel says he is “very happy” after joining Fiorentina on loan for the rest of the season from Sevilla. The Colombia international made the switch to Sevilla in the summer of 2017 for a reported club-record fee of 20 million euros and he enjoyed a decent debut season, scoring seven goals from 29 La Liga appearances.
However, the 27-year-old has fallen down the pecking order during the current campaign, with just one league start to his name, and he will be plying his trade with Fiorentina for the remainder of the season after joining on loan.

Muriel, who spent two successful years with Sampdoria before moving to La Liga, says he is delighted to have made the temporary switch and is looking forward to playing football in Italy again. “I chose Fiorentina for the history of this team, then I had already talked to the director and the company a long time ago and I kept my word. After the effort made by Fiorentina I could not help but come here and I’m very happy,” Muriel was quoted as saying by Fiorentina news.
