It is understood the Norwegian has been in regular contact with executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, and is said to be “upbeat” about their summer transfer business so far. The Red Devils completed the signing of Wales winger starlet Daniel James from Swansea on Wednesday, with hopes increasing that a £50m deal for Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka can also be agreed soon.
Solskjaer, however, is believed to want to be back behind his desk before the majority of his squad begin returning, to fine-tune some of his other plans. United remain in the process of appointing a technical director, something else which the 46-year-old continues to have a big say in.
