Nigeria’s Flamingos will take on Germany in the third-place match at the FIFA U-17 women’s World Cup in India.
In the second semi-final on Wednesday, Germany lost 1-0 to reigning U-17 women’s champions Spain following a 90th minute goal.

Just like the game against USA, Omamuzo Edafe had the chance to win it for the Flamingos, but saw her decisive spot kick saved which dragged the shootout into sudden death.
Comfort Folorunsho then missed her kick in sudden death which handed Colombia the win.
This would be the second time the Flamingos and Germany will clash at this year’s World Cup.
In their first meeting in the group stage the Germans came from a goal down to beat the Flamingos 2-1.
The third-place match comes up on Sunday, 30 October and the final between Spain and Colombia will also hold the same day.

Una try Sha but it’s always good to make mouth after a game not boasting or making mouth bfor a game…. Una weldone girls
Our girls have natural talents but lack the technical impute that cannot be picked on the street, The technical aspect of football comes only from years of grooming from around the age of five. Nigeria is making a huge mistake for abandoning school/grassroot football and concentrating on competitions,Gusau should bring his ass back to this country and join the do nothing minister for sports plus all sports administrators in Nigeria to draw up a strategy on how to return football back to school in Nigeria. If we had picked these players from a schools about 80% of them wouldn’t have made the team because we have talents everywhere in Nigeria. Anyway, congrats Flamingos you were gallant in your loss, you girls have a great footballing career ahead of you, congrats once again and God Bless You All.
Congrats to our girls for making top four..comeback with the bronze at least.
It’s not the end of the world, and no harm in the playing for third place! There must be lessons to learn when our football keeps finishing below first place. It simply means the country has so much potential that it has refused to turn into excellence.
