David Moyes has described as surprising Edu’s departure from his position as Sporting Director at Arsenal.
The former Arsenal midfielder resigned from his position few days ago and look set to take up a new role at Nottingham Forest.
Reacting to the departure, Moyes said it was surprising to him especially now that Arsenal are close to winning the Premier League title.
“I thought it was strange Edu would leave Arsenal in a position where they are getting close to winning a Premier League title over the last couple of years,” the former Everton boss was quoted on Arsenal News Central.
“It looks like he had a really good relationship with Mikel as well, which is not easy. Getting those relationships with owners or managers can be difficult.
“I thought they worked really well together. I don’t know who makes all the signings at Arsenal, I’m sure the manager has the final say on them all, but Edu has played a big part in the players they have brought in there.”
