Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Mowbray admits it will be difficult to keep Tosin Adarabioyo at the club for another season , reports Completesports.com.
Adarabioyo, who joined Blackburn from Manchester City on a one-year loan deal last summer has make a huge impact at the Ewood Park.
Mowbray ‘would love’ to have the elegant centre-back at the club for next campaign, but admits ‘not in a million years’ would Rovers be able to get close to a permanent move.
“Ultimately, we couldn’t afford him, that’s the first part of the question. This is why this loan system is really good because not in a million years could we afford Tosin Adarabioyo,”Mowbray told Lancashiretelegraph.co.uk.
“We’ll wait and see, but I’m not thinking sat here that Tosin will be starting next season with us, unless Man City do us a huge favour of course, I’m not sure that will be the case.
The 22-year-old is in to the final year of his contract at the Etihad and will certainly think about his future at the club.

The defender has made five first-team appearances for City, and is keen to make the grade under Pep Guardiola but could be forced to seek a move to another Premier League club.
Adarabioyo, in my opinion, he’s been very good for us. He’s still a young boy learning his trade in such a crucial position. He has wonderful attributes,” Mowbray.
“I hope he’s enjoyed it. We’d love to have him back, I think it’s a bit more complicated than that.
“First and foremost, for his career him and his advisors would expect him to be moving on to try and nail down his career in the Premier League.
“Whether that’s with Manchester City, and that’s not for me to say, he would like to be in the Premier League and be in a squad somewhere, or he could go to La Liga or the Bundesliga to get his career going. From our perspective, we’d love to do something with him. At this moment I don’t know Manchester City’s plans.

‘Not in a MILLION years could we afford Tosin’
Is he that hot prospect?
to be frank i don’t watch EFL like that, i only watch westbrome games bcox of Ajayi and sometimes QPR For Eze.
but i will take those words by Tosin coach with a pinch of salt.
i mean it didn’t take chelsea for example up to a 100yrs to develope into one of the bigest clubs in England so hw can he say in a MILLION YEARS.
i can believe the rest but that statement won’t come frm a professional coach.
it implies that the player is bigger than the club which is impossible, not even Mpape(world most expensive player) .
anyways that can only show hw good he is and i am happy he chose 9ja.i hope he will bcome the next big thing in defence in world football.
may God bless your promising career.
It is not because the player is too big for the club, rather what Tony Mowbray is referring to is the money that would be demanded by Manchester City. What TM is saying is that they cannot buy defenders for £20m, as that is the price Man City wants for him. Even if Man City offered to reduce the price by 50% to £10m, it is still two times the cost of Blackburn’s biggest purchase last season.
So no, not about the player being too big/good for the club, more about whether they have the money to buy him.
Am not Surprised Coach TM-has fondly called @Rovers is saying this.
Long time forumites know I’ve always written about this guy Tosin. Am proudly a Manchester City fan and have known Tosin since his U-23 days till he was promoted under Pelligrini cuz of his immense talent. Then he played most times at Right back but I wasn’t too impressed due to his lanky nature. Like he doesn’t fit into that position well. But he was still OK. Then, Pep came and we all know Pep as a coach that doesn’t tolerate lackadaisical approach to work – part of reasons that got Ihenacho out of the team straight up. Under Pep, Tosin was featured in our 3 man defense games and impressed Pep. He went on to feature in the Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao and even Champions League before being loaned to West Brom to get more game time last season as Pep sees him as a Bright prospect for Man City and wouldn’t want him to rot on the bench. He played mostly at RB for West Brom but Thank God for his loan move to Rovers this season. The Coach saw he is most effective at the Center Back role and he has went on to feature all season in that role and excelled. With the transfer saga we are having in Man City currently and the Defensive problems we’ve had this season also coupled with Tosin’s impressive performance for Rovers, I smell a return to Manchester City next season.
He chose us. One of the best news I read online last week. He is worth the hype
