Jose Mourinho is set to become Samuel Osayi-Samuel’s coach at Turkish giants Fenerbahce.
This is according to Italian journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
“Fenerbahçe are closing in on the agreement to appoint José Mourinho as new head coach!” he wrote on his X handle.
“Mourinho has already said YES.
“Verbal agreement in place and contract now being reviewed by Mourinho’s camp.
“The announcement can take place today, as revealed by @abolapt.”
He later added:”José Mourinho’s verbal agreement with Fenerbahçe is on two year contract valid until June 2026.
“It will also include an option for further season.
“Jorge Mendes has been negotiating the deal and now time to review, sign all formal documents.
“Here we go soon!”
Mourinho was sacked after two-and-a-half years in charge at Serie A heavyweight AS Roma.
He led Roma to the Europa Conference League title in 2022, their first-ever European title.
The 60-year-old also guided them to the Europa League final last season, where they were defeated by Sevilla on penalties. His contract was due to expire in June.
Fenerbahce narrowly lost the league title to Galatasaray on the final day of the campaign.
