Morocco has been named by CAF as headquarters for the African Clubs Association, ACA, project, edging the pair of fellow North African nation Algeria and South Africa, Completesports.com reports.
Morocco and Algeria extended invitations to the ACA Board to come and inspect their facilities, a move that further added weight to their bid and choice.
On Friday, 18 January, ACA Board met in Morocco and unanimously endorsed Morocco for the project. Morocco will also stage the 2024 AFCON as well as the U17 AFCON, underlining their growing influence in football in the African continent.

Nigeria’s Paul Bassey, Vice President of African Clubs Association, confirmed the development.
“After comparing the bids before us, we were unanimous that Morocco will give us a better deal due to the quality infrastructure and the projection of football development in the continent in the next fifty years”.
Elder Bassey added: “ACA will share offices in Rabat in the vicinity of CAF and FIFA offices and this is a major plus, given the position Morocco is occupying in the development of World Football”.
African Clubs Association has thus dispatched a letter to the Moroccan Football President, Fouzi Lekjaa, congratulating them for winning the bid to house ACA.

Following this development, board members of ACA will be in Morocco this weekend to formally sign the MoU and fine-tune the agreement.
The visit coincides with the draw of the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 to be held on January 27 in Rabat and will afford ACA executives the opportunity of discussing club related issues with FIFA, CAF and National Association officials that will be present.
