The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has applauded the Atlas Lions’ historic 2-1 win over Brazil in a friendly match on Saturday at the Grand Stade de Tanger.
The Atlas Lions are now the second African team to defeat Brazil after Cameroon first achieved the feat at the 2003 Confederations Cup.
Also Cameroon recorded their second win against Brazil at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
In their two previous encounters, Brazil defeated Morocco 2-0 in an international friendly in 1997 before following it up with a 3-0 win at the 1998 World Cup.
And in Saturday’s friendly game, Sofiane Boufal opened scoring in the 29th minute with a well taken right-footed shot inside the box.

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro equalised for Brazil in the 67th minute, however Abdelhamid Sabiri scored the winning goal 12 minutes later.
And reacting to the win, the FRMF took to Twitter to congratulate the 2022 World Cup semi-finalists.
“FULL TIME It’s a win !! No surprise Atlas Lions continue to make history,” the Tweet reads.
Morocco became the first African team to reach the semi-final at last year’s tournament in Qatar.

Super? You are humiliating the meaning of super na. Eagles. Chickens. Pigeons. Anyone but super I beg. It is okay for Morocco to be called Super atlas lions. They are proving right that word. Not the one that is rewriting a record of 4 consecutive defeats last “achieved” 42 years ago according to Punch newspaper.
Super what hmmmm.

The Atlas Lions were outstanding, determined and very confident all through the game. I salute them. Nigeria my country what a pity
Brazil used mainly U-20 kids. Brazil were experimenting. But they were out of their depth. Men against Boys. They need a good Manager if they’re going to win anything.
NFF must look at thoes dedicated and committment players and team who called Morocco, NFF must consider this study from Morocco Football Federation how they created a formidable team which have beaten Belgium,Spain Portugal and now is beating Brasil 2-1; can NFF do like Moroccan Football Federation at little time?!
