Japan coach, Hajime Moriyasu has praised his team, following their win over Germany at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and claims that Samurai Blue has reached world-class status.
Japan defeated the Nationalelf (National Eleven) of Germany 2-1 in a Qatar 2022 Group E encounter at the Khalifa International Stadium on November 23.
Moriyasu fielded questions from journalists during a post-match press conference and spoke highly of his players’ capabilities.
“We are reaching the global standard,” BBC Sport quoted Moriyasu as saying.
“We are showing our capability from Asian football. They have a wonderful goalkeeper however our players were very intelligent.

“When we conceded a goal, we continued. You have to be persistent. Our team fought really hard. We need to be until the very last minute and then we can grab this moment.
“Maybe we could show that Japanese players have been building up their abilities.”
Samurai Blue will play Costa Rica next on Sunday, November 27 at the Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium.
Japan are second in Group E with three points and a goal difference of one behind Spain who are also on three points but currently atop with a better goal difference.
Germany are third in the group with a goal difference of minus one and zero points, and Costa Rica have zero points and a goal difference of minus seven.
