Lorient of France striker, Terem Moffi is delighted with the first half of the 2022/23 Ligue 1 season which ended over the weekend.
The in-form danger man scored his 10th league goal of the campaign in his side’s 1-1 draw away at Strasbourg last Sunday.
The goal took him to third on the league’s top scorers’ chart led by Paris Saint-Germain forward, Kylian Mbappe on 12 goals and closely followed by teammate, Neymar who has struck 11 times this campaign.
The Super Eagles star had a catastrophic performance in the league last season, netting only eight goals in 37 appearances in Ligue 1, meaning he only missed one game for Lorient.

However, he has flipped the pages this season, scoring 10 goals already in 14 games in the French topflight so far, having missed only one game this season, his side’s 2-2 at home to Troyes late in October.
Moffi is four goals shy of equalling his feat in his debut season two years ago for Lorient when he hit 14 goals in 32 appearances for the club in the league.
Despite playing for a low-budget club such as Lorient, the Nigerian international has proven that he is a reliable and dependable goal-ppacher.
Marking the end of the first half of the current season which is expected to resume again after the 2022 World Cup and Christmas break, the former KV Kortrijk star wrote on social media: “Thank you God! First half of the season done.”

I’m really impressed with this young man. When he was coming up I really wasn’t sure of him. His playing style and ability was not too impressive to me, as well as his goal return. But he has worked his way up the super Eagles ladder. With hard work and determination. He will most likely lead the team against Portugal. Who would have thought. With more experienced and celebrated players like awoniyi, iheanacho, moffi is the one to lead the team against Portugal (most likely). I hope he does well, I hope he cements his place in the team so that others will seat up.
I won’t mind a three pronged attack with moffi, lookman and either dessers or Dennis.
Lookman is the best winger we have in the team at the moment so he should start. He is a goal threat, good with free kicks and penalties and knows how to use both feet.
The midfield is stocked for the first time in a long while.
Iwobi and ndidi starts of course. With either etebo or aribo.
It’s uzoho in goal, okoye hasn’t been doing much at Watford but everyone has seen uzoho being active for his club.
In defense I see peseiro using akpoguma and Bassey as his Centre back. Bright and awaziem will compete for the right back, while ebuehi and the boavista defender will compete for the left back position but the boavista guy might get the nod since I heard that he is left footed.
Let’s see how it turns out.
