Mikel Arteta has described Mikel Merino as a big threat to opponents following his performance in the win against Brentford on Wednesday.
Merino was on target in the Gunners’ 3-1 win against Brentford, taking his tally to two goals in the league.
Both of Merino’s goals have come from set piece with his first coming against Liverpool.
“Very good, it’s because he deserves it,” Arteta said about Merino. “The type of game that we have to play and the amount of density that they defend when they are deep requires people with a lot of threat in the box & he’s the master of that.
“We believe with this unit on the left, we can have the dynamics that we wanted. He scored a very, very important goal again. He’s always there, he’s a big threat.”
