Huddersfield Giants have announced that full-back Darnell McIntosh has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2021. The 21-year-old has featured in every game this season since being moved from the wing to a new full back spot and he has been rewarded with a new two-year deal at the John Smith’s stadium.
The former Academy player has come through the ranks at his hometown club and he is delighted to get the opportunity to continue to play for Simon Woolford’s side. McIntosh told the club’s website: “When you’re in the last season of your contract it’s always in the back of your mind.
To get something done fairly early on in the season has taken pressure off me. I haven’t thought about it too much, I’ve been working to take it week by week and game by game. “I’m from Huddersfield and come through the ranks here. Just because there was interest elsewhere I wasn’t going to walk away from the club. I think I’ve made the right decision.”
