Schalke midfielder Omar Mascarell is wanted by VfB Stuttgart who want to take him on loan this month, according to reports in Germany.
The former Real Madrid star moved to Schalke for 10m euros last summer after spending two previous season with Eintracht Frankfurt before returning to Madrid.

The defensive midfielder has never found his feet at Schalke and is finding first-team appearances almost impossible to come by and has made just four Bundesliga appearances this term.
Apparently, Stuttgart are now hoping to sign Mascarell on a loan deal that includes a purchase option but with Benjamin Stambouli ruled out for weeks with a broken cheekbone, Schalke may want to hold on to the 25-year-old.
