Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand has revealed why Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola is ‘scared’ of incoming Red Devils boss, Ruben Amorim.
Ferdinand claimed that after watching the departing Sporting Lisbon head coach destroy his team on Tuesday night, Guardiola will be afraid of Amorim’s imminent arrival at Old Trafford.
Sporting Lisbon defeated City 4-1 in the 39-year-old’s farewell home game thanks to a hat-trick from striker Viktor Gyokeres, who is predicted to follow him to Manchester.
According to The Evening Standard, Ferdinand believes Guardiola will be cautious of the effect the former Portugal international will have at their city rivals.
“I was excited by the change in dynamics of his team in the second half, how aggressive and dynamic there were, they showed fight and resilience,” Ferdinand said on TNT Sports.

“They are important elements you want him to bring, we are lacking that at Man Utd so I am really excited.
“You want a bit of sunshine and hopefully that man can bring that. But it’s going to take some time, it is not an overnight job, but Pep will be scared.”
Amorim will be under pressure to start getting positive results at his new club.
United are currently placed 13th on the Premier League standings, having garnered just 13 points in 10 matches with a negative goal difference.
The Red Devils are also underwhelming in the UEFA Europa League where they are currently winless in three matches so far.
