Manchester United fans want the club to sign Odion Ighalo on a permanent basis when his loan expires.
The former Watford striker, on loan at United from Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua, has surpassed expectations at Old Trafford. He’s already scored four goals in three starts for United and won considerable praise from his boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Norwegian has already hinted that United could complete a permanent swoop for Ighalo if his loan continues to fare well. And United fans would appear to be overwhelmingly in favour.
In response to an Manchester Evening News’ Sport poll that asked: “Should Manchester United sign Odion Ighalo on a permanent deal in the summer?”, more than 80 per cent said ‘yes’.

An 82.7 per cent share voted ‘yes’ and only 17.3 per cent voted ‘no’.
Meanwhile, Ighalo named Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke when asked who his favourite Manchester United player was when he was growing up.
Cole and Yorke formed a formidable partnership during the 1998-99 season as United won the Treble. The pair were also influential in United’s 2000 and 2001 title wins.
“I watched Andy Cole growing up,” Ighalo told beIN Sports. “Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke, they were two strikers at United who used to score goals. They were very strong and scored a lot of goals.”
Ighalo followed in the footsteps of his idols when he joined United on loan until the end of the season in January.
The Nigerian has started his Reds career in fine form, scoring four goals in
eight appearances in all competitions, leading to suggestions a permanent deal could be on the horizon.
