Manchester City have suffered another injury setback as Ruben Diaz is expected to be out for up to four weeks.
City manager Pep Guardiola disclosed this on Friday during his presser ahead of his team’s visit to Aston Villa on Saturday.
“Ruben Dias will be out for three or four weeks. It’s muscular,” Guardiola said. “He played 75 minutes against United and he felt something but he is so strong and wanted to stay on the pitch.”
The Spaniard, however, revealed that Manuel Akanji and John Stones have returned to training having been sidelined with injury.
“Manuel [Akanji] and John [Stones] are back in training. That is good for us…
“I don’t know yet [if they will start on Saturday]. Yesterday was their first training session.”
City have been on a poor run of form which has seen them record just one win in 11 games.
Speaking on his team’s form, Guardiola expressed confidence that they have what it takes to turn things around.
He added:”I handle good moments and I handle bad ones… I know we can get a good result and see the team coming back and that is what we want to do.”
