Manchester City have announced the signing of Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt.
City confirmed the signing in a statement on their website on Thursday.
Marmoush joined in a deal reported to be worth £59 million.
He becomes City’s third signing in the January transfer window following the acquisition of Uzbekistan defender Abdukodir Khusanov from RC Lens and Vitor Reis from Palmeiras.
“Manchester City are delighted to announce the signing of Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt.
“The 25-year-old Egyptian striker has completed a move to the Etihad Stadium on a four-and-a-half-year deal, meaning he will remain at the Club until the summer of 2029.
“One of the most coveted young forwards operating in the European game, Marmoush is also capable of being deployed on either attacking flank.
“An accomplished Egyptian international with 35 caps to his name to date, Marmoush made his professional bow back in his Egyptian homeland as a 17-year-old in 2016 with Wadi Degla.”
After making 17 appearances and scoring two goals for Wadi, Marmoush moved to Europe in 2017, joining VF Wolfsburg before then making a switch to Frankfurt in the summer of 2023.
