The Eagles of Mali have qualified for the quarter-finals of AFCON 2023 after securing a 2-1 win against Burkina Faso on Tuesday.
Mali have now reachEd the quarter-finals of the African Cup of Nations for first time since 2013.
The Malians got off to a very good start thanks to an own goal by Edmond Tapsoba as early as the 3rd minute.
Three minutes into the second half Mali went 2-0 through Lassine Sinayoko.

In the 57th minute Burkina Faso pulled a goal back as Bertrand Traore converted from the penalty spot.
Mali will now face a rejuvenated Côte d’Ivoire side in the quarter-finals on Saturday in Bouake.
The Ivorians put behind them their disappointing performance in the group stage to knock Senegal out on penalty shootout.
