Manchester United defender, Harry Maguire has issued a stern warning to Red Devils manager, Erik Ten Hag that he won’t accept sitting on the bench at Old Trafford.
Recall that the England international was handed his first start in the league against Brentford with six other defenders injured.
However, the 30-year-old faces a return to the bench once the likes of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez are fit again.
Bu then, speaking a press conference ahead of England’s double-header against Australia on Friday and Italy on Tuesday, Maguire threatened to leave the Premier League club in January if he continues in a bit-part role under manager Erik ten Hag.

“I am not going to sit here all my life and play once a month. If it carries on I am sure myself and the club will sit down and have a chat about things.
“It’s not my decision whether I start the next game for United or not. In a couple of weeks, I’ll go back and find out,” Maguire said, ahead of England’s double-header against Australia on Friday and Italy on Tuesday.
Recognised for his authoritative defending, Maguire is also known for his composure on the ball as well as his physical strength and presence.
Maguire is also a powerful and accomplished penalty-kick taker and is notable for his ability to score powerful headers.
In February 2018, Maguire got engaged to his long-term girlfriend Fern Hawkins after seven years of dating. The couple married on 25 June 2022 at the Chateau de Varennes in South Burgundy, France.
On 3 April 2019, Maguire revealed on his Instagram page that Hawkins had given birth to their first child, a daughter. Maguire and Hawkins had their second daughter on 9 May 2020.
