Super Falcons interim head coach Justine Madugu says it is important for the team to move on from their disappointing outing at the 2024 Olympic Games.
The Super Falcons failed to record a win at the games, losing all three games.
Madugu is now in charge of the team following the resignation of former handler Randy Waldrum.
The nine-time African champions will engage Algeria in a double-header friendlies starting from this weekend.

“We have been having useful sessions since we resumed on Monday. I am impressed with the discipline and sense of dedication of the players, and I am looking forward to a masterclass performance by the Super Falcons in both games,” Madugu told thenff.com.
“We respect the Algerians just as we respect every team we play, but the truth is that we need to bounce back strongly from the below-par outing at the Olympics and restore our team’s confidence and positive spirit.”
Nigeria and Algeria will clash at the Remo Stars’ Sports Complex, Ikenne from 3pm on Saturday, 26th October.
The second match scheduled for the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos on Tuesday, 29th October from 4pm.

Japan, Spain and Brazil (our 2024 Olympics opponents) are in the TOP 10 of women’s rankings. Nigeria is ranked 36th. How the heck is losing narrowly to nearly all those teams “below par”?
Algeria is ranked 84th, whole 50 places below us. Why will NFF not organize such kind of friendlies to flow with “using our own”?
Will such friendlies prove any test of mettle?
Hahahaha…similar to Odegbami referring to 1 bronze and 1 silver medal win at 24-team AFCONs as disasters brought upon us in the last decade by foreign coaches while going completely mute about “our owns” failing woefully in ALL assignments during the same period.
The level of cynicism and insipid sycophancy in that country is laughable….LMAOoo
Now they want to prop up their local coaches and players, they went to organize friendlies with Algeria…..LMAOoo….really? Whatever happened to the likes of Ghana, CIV or Cameroon, excusing Zambia and South Africa who are taking part in the COSAFA women’s championship at the moment?
One lunatic even dismissed the idea of facing stiff oppositions in friendlies on the flimsy excuse that the players hadn’t been together long enough…LMAOOo…as if we had 4-week training camps before hopping on the plane to go play friendlies previously….LMAOoo.
Algeria of all countries….LMAOoo. Even if we must play a North African team, for whatever reason, I am 100% sure the Moroccans would agree to foot all the expenses should Nigeria propose a friendly encounter to them.
