Leicester City have confirmed that Eduardo Macia will leave his role as the club’s head of recruitment on Friday.
Macia spent two-and-a-half years in the role and signed a total of 17 players including Youri Tielemans and James Maddison, but departs following the appointment of Brendan Rodgers as Leicester’s new manager.

Leicester said Macia had expressed a wish “to seek new challenges” and he looks nailed on to take up the job of sporting director at Ligue 1 outfit Bordeaux. French football agent Bruno Satin recently admitted that Macia’s departure from King Power Stadium was imminent.
“The [Bordeaux] sports director will arrive in a fortnight. It is someone who is relatively known. You will find out, his name has already filtered, especially at Leicester at the same time as Claude Puel – Eduardo Macia? Exactly,” he said.
“It’s been a while since we talked about it, but he did not warn his employers that he was leaving before his name had actually come out.”
