Aston Villa look set to secure the services of Manchester City midfielder Douglas Luiz in a deal thought to be worth £15m.
The defensive midfielder has spent the past few seasons on loan at Girona as he struggled to break his way into Pep Guardiola’s first team at the Etihad Stadium.
Luiz is still highly-rated at City but with so much competition for places in the squad at the Premier League champions, City are content to allow the player to move on to pastures new with Villa.
Reports have suggested Luiz is flying out to the United States to join up with the rest of Dean Smith’s squad, with a deal expected to be completed shortly for the Brazilian.
