Chelsea’s David Luiz says he is talking to the club and expects to sign a new deal soon. The Brazilian joined the Blues for a second spell in 2016 but his contract is due to expire at the end of the campaign and, as yet, an agreement is yet to be reached.
Luiz’s form since arriving back in London has again split opinion due to the inconsistency of his play. However, he has featured more often than not this season under Maurizio Sarri.
With the Stamford Bridge hierarchy currently fighting a transfer ban, there is uncertainty over their plans for the summer and the 31-year-old has suggested he will be staying on. He is quoted as saying by the Evening Standard: “I think [I’ll be at Chelsea next season].
