Lookman’s Late Goal Not Enough To Help Atalanta Avoid Defeat To Como

Ademola Lookman came off the bench to score for Atalanta, but it was too little too late as they fell to a 3-2 defeat at home to newly promoted Como in Tuesday’s Serie A game.

Lookman was brought on 10 minutes into the game when Atalanta were 2-1 down.

The Super Eagles forward now has two goals in two league games with one assist.

Davide Zappacosta gave Atalanta the lead on 18 minutes which they took into half time.

But it was a different Como side, handled by former Arsenal and Barcelona midfield star, Cesc Fabregas, that emerged for the second half as they scored three goals in 12 minutes to lead 3-1.

Gabriel Strefezza made it 1-1 on 46 minutes while an own goal by Sead Kolasinac gave Como a 2-1 lead on 54 minutes.

Then just four minutes later Como extended their lead, going 3-1 up thanks to Alieu Fadera.

Lookman pulled a goal back for Atalanta after converting from the penalty spot in the 99th minute.

But the goal only served as consolation as Como held on to secure the three points.

Following the defeat, Atalanta are on 12 position on six points after five games.
